Laura Del Fiore is a separated mother of two children, Emanuele and Nina. Their life is peaceful until Paolo Giorgi, a widower, moves in with his teenage daughter Cristina. The two families, with opposing habits and tastes, end up hating each other.

His partner, partly out of guilt and partly to show him her support, decides to invest part of the book's proceeds in the tranquility of a greenhouse. Michele appears to Monica in a dream and reveals that a man is about to enter her life.

Laura leaves for Sorrento without clearing things up with Paolo, who is increasingly jealous of the publisher's relationship with his partner. Both, hoping for the other's call, wait for the situation to resolve. Despite this magical moment in her career, Laura is sad and constantly thinks of Paolo, from whom she expected greater support at such a delicate moment in her life.
