Ted's brother, a tabloid writer, fabricates a story about a family with a robot daughter (purely by coincidence) and uses a picture of Vicki to illustrate it, oblivious to the truth. After it's published, Vicki asks Ted if she's a robot and he gives her a long non-answer. She shrugs and says "ask a simple question and you get a pageant!" leaves the room and Ted quickly mentions he programmed her to think she's real.

It came out of nowhere and was never mentioned again.
