Item: Bluey Minisodes
Language: en-US
Type of Problem: Incorrect_content
Extra Details: Episode numbers do not correlate to the correct episodes. E.g. Episode 6 is not 'Tattoo Shop'. 'Tattoo Shop' is episode 8, while episode 6 is actually supposed to be 'Three Pigs'.
If you follow the official blog posts that announce all the Bluey Minisodes, you'll see they're listed in order from left-to-right. They also release the Minisodes "batches", perhaps we could mark these as seasons here?
Technically, none of the episodes are numbered. However, it's safe to say the following could be considered the official episode order as in most official Bluey material the episodes are listed in this order, and are already being used by the TVDB and Wikipedia article.
Batch 1 Bluey Minisodes: Titles and more announced (lists this left-to-right) & New Bluey Minisodes Guide! (lists this top-to-bottom):
Batch 2 Bluey Minisodes: Batch Two is Coming Soon (lists this left-to-right) & New Minisodes Viewing Guide! (Batch Two) (lists this top-to-bottom):
Batch 3 (just released) Bluey Minisodes: Batch Three Revealed (lists this left-to-right):

The series is following the air date order on the original network (ABC Kids).
Muffin Unboxing and Three Pigs were released internationally on Disney+ but they have not yet aired in Australia on ABC Kids. As such, they should be the last two episodes of season 1 until they air in Australia on ABC Kids. If they don't air in Australia on ABC Kids, they will eventually be moved to the Specials season with the international Disney+ air date.

I understand that, however, TMDB is most known for having the most accurate metadata (when compared to other sources) because it's community driven approach to things. Many users have already complained about the inaccuracy of this shows episode order being displayed in TMDB.
I understand now that you're trying to number the episodes based on the ABC Kids air date, but TMDB entries already have seperate tags for
episode_number
andair_date
. When a show is episodic (self-contained stories that can be watched in any order) like Bluey Minisodes, it is completely okay for an episode to have aired later than it's predecessors. Episodes that haven't aired should simply omit theair_date
, and do not need to be moved into the specials category especially when the episode in question is not a special. Specials in this case would better suit seasonal or potentially short form branded spin offs, that the show may produce in the future. An episodes air date typically refers to the date of the first TV broadcast, seperate from streaming, and should be prioritized as so (using the streaming date last) until there is an officialstreaming_date
tag.Considering TMDB has seperate tags for
episode_number
andair_date
, there is no reason to go against the programme defined by Ludo (the production company) on the official Bluey website (as outlined in my previous post). This is the official order also being used by IMDB, TMDB and Wikipedia article. For the sake of accuracy, please reconsider structuring the TVDB's episode order in line with the official programme.Reply by Roman Siebert

The default order is the air date order. Any different order should use episode groups. No show is exempt from this.
Until they air on the original network in the original country, episodes that haven't aired yet should have a blank air date and should keep getting moved to be the last episodes in the default order. If they never air on the original network in the original country, they should be moved to the Specials season.
The Specials season is for anything TMDB considers to not be a regular episode, like unaired pilots, some DVD extra material, recap episodes not considered regular episodes by the network, episodes released as 0 or .5, odd-numbered episodes (e.g. an episode released as 101 or 202 for a show with a 10 episode season), and episodes not aired on the original network in the original country.
There is a good reason: those episodes haven't aired on the original network in the original country.
IMDb, TVDB, and Wikipedia all have their own rules just like TMDB has its own rules. The current order is accurate to the way the series has aired on the original network in the original country.
That's fine, but this TV entry still has to follow the same rules as every other TV entry on TMDB.

Gotcha! While I still think the season should be outlined as I described above, that's some pretty good insight you provided. It's interesting to see how TMDB works when mapping out episodes. I appreciate you taking the time to respond to my last message. Thank you.

Hey! I don't really care about the episode order, but for instances episodes (minisodes) "Government" and "Drums" which we just watched aren't even listed here.
Can this be fixed?

Both are there: Government is episode 9 and Drums is episode 10.
