One witness in a racketeering trial is killed with a booby-trapped car, and Stone worries that the remaining witness, Roy Chaffee, will be picked off by a hit man if he surfaces.

While Keller recovers from a gunshot wound, Stone is forced to team with hippie-haired narcotics officer Al Walczinsky. Together they try to break up a narcotics ring that's gone murderous -- until Stone suspects that Walczinsky's in on the racket.
