Essentially my source is the fact that the episode was broadcast at the usual time, usual day of the week and the usual length.
Maybe my understanding of “special” is wrong, but isn’t a special where a show has an extra episode? In the context of a weekly music show I don’t think the term special applies when it’s just an episode dedicated to a single artist.
