Tinasha leaves Farsas to defect to Cuscull at Lanak's side. Something about her actions, however, don't quite add up, which does not escape the notice of Cuscull's chief mage.

The kingdom of Farsas enjoys some much-needed peace as the end of the year approaches. Beneath the tranquility, however, a plot is brewing with Farsas Castle as its target.

Tinasha finds out that her tower has some unexpected visitors. Oscar reluctantly prepares to attend a public function in the neighboring nation of Gandona.

Oscar and Tinasha venture out to Yarda to find its missing princess, and to put an end to the escalating civil conflict orchestrated by the Witch Who Cannot Be Summoned.

A band of thieves kidnaps Tinasha while Oscar is away. Now, he must negotiate for her safe return, but they demand that Oscar relinquish a Farsas royal treasure: his trusty sword, Akashia.

Tinasha and Prince Legis of Tuldarr are met with assassination attempts. A mysterious woman visits Farsas Castle and offers to bear Oscar's child.

Oscar agrees to let Princess Nephelli of Yarda take refuge from strife in her homeland. However, they find an assassin has followed her into Farsas.

Tinasha takes the throne once more as Tuldarr's queen. Oscar makes up his mind after Tinasha shocks all present at the coronation ceremony.
