This should have been a movie. The only apparent reason it is a miniseries (and many shows are series now apparently..) is to drag out a bunch of flat, unnecessary, tic-the-box relationships. There is not one interesting relationship, yet most of the time is spent on them. If all the neat visuals were compressed, and one emotionally engaging relationship written, it could have been great. Fun concept anyway. 4 episodes tops.

I'm going to have to disagree. It was based on a book, which goes some way to explaining the length. I've not read the book but it does sound like a loose adaptation; the book synopsis on Wikipedia sounds like it is more "military" and the characters are less "global". The global nature of the characters is what drew me to the show, and my wife and I were both invested in most of them. Anyway, it's a shame that the show didn't do better as I'd like to see more of this kind of SCIENCE fiction. Maybe if it had been picked up by Netflix...
