According to David Lynch, while there may be a season four, it would probably take several years to appear.

No thanks, no season 4. If Frost and Lynch were to hire some new writers, if they were to come up with a plot that makes sense, then I suppose a 4th season can just about be justified but the chances are Lynch and Frost will write it all and a 4th season will make zero sense and life is too short to watch stuff that makes no sense.
