So far this new season has been a complete misfire, but there are some good scenes sprinkled in between all the incoherent nonsense.
Which one has been your favourite scene so far?
Mine was the sheriff visit to the widow of Major Briggs, and Bobby unlocking the message by timing the vibrations of the lock. It felt connected to the lore, the acting was believable, it was mysterious, and had an emotional core - Bobby's childhood memories of his father.

Like thousands of others, I am loving it.
How can you have a favorite scene if you think it's all incoherent nonsense?

There are many aspects that go into a TV show, and a great many scenes in an 18 hour season. Although I think the season fails overall, I can still admire aspects or single scenes that are good. I know a lot of people love it, and that's great for them. So then, what is your favourite scene? The Coop floating was quite trippy indeed, perhaps inspired by out of body experiences from Lynch's meditation?

My favorite scene so far has to be Hastings "confession" with Tammy. The way he went from moderately calm to an absolute wreck was heartbreaking to watch. Such good acting.

There's a great video online that connects paintings and art that Lynch is likely referencing in many shots of his work. They have one for the floating Coop in the box scene, I can't remember the artist but check it out. Link won't copy for some reason but it's less than 5 minutes long, google " the art of David lynch on Vimeo"

@firewalking one of my most recent favorite scenes was Dougie in the desert with the Mitchum brothers and Jim Belucci's characters reaction to the pie in the box, describing his dream, "it has to have this ONE specific thing in it," And the following scene in the restaurant, the gambling woman thanking Mr Jackpots and the tough-guy Mitchums getting a little choked up 🙈Meanwhile of course - Candy.... candy......candy!!!!!! I also loved the scene where Naomi Watts was paying back the loan sharks in the park by the playground, telling them they should be ashamed of themselves, pretty much putting them in their place and kinda scaring the crap out of them in the way only a suburban mom who takes no shit can.

When Dougie/Cooper quickly went into karate kick as s defense mode and squeezed Ike the Spike's hand off.

A character dreaming of cherry pie certainly fits well. My thoughts wandered to the movie Seven, in which the contents of the box would have been quite a bit more grim.
The jackpot hobo lady cleaned up quite well, didn't she? Ah, the wonders of newfound wealth, from rags to riches through a chance encounter. Here's to hoping she buys the old sawmill and gets it going again.
The playground scene was definitely the best one for Naomi Watts, where her character showed both brains and balls in dealing with the petty criminals. I just wish she wasn’t completely oblivious to the obvious catatonic state of Dougie in most of the other scenes. Quite sad if no one around you notices when you turn into a vegetable.
The karate chop scene had a kinetic energy, which I welcome. It seems Cooper requires encountering weird dwarves to trigger a "Jason Bourne" moment, showing that his FBI training is still part of his muscle memory. Which is extremely weird, considering it’s not Cooper's actual physical body. Did muscle memory also transfer when the original Dougie was spawned?

@firewalkingsaid:
Dougies boss, Bushnell, said- Dougie was in an accident , right before he came to work for him, and he still suffers from side effects from that accident that make him 'loopy'. So supposedly that explains why wife and the people that work with him treat him the way they do.
The ARM TREE was the trigger- it came up through the sidewalk and commanded " SQUEEZE HIS HAND OFF!!" The ARM TREE and THE ONE ARM MAN both are helping and watching over Cooper/Dougie.
