Their music fitted well with the theme of the episode, but like you said something felt off. To be honest I think it was a promotion for their album Not The Actual Events which was divided into three EP's and one of them was recently released. If so it goes against the spirit of Twin Peaks in my opinion.

I think you may be right and I agree that it goes against the spirit even though the other bands featured it was the same thing. Again, I like the other bands' songs as well.

The only difference, and it's a big difference, is that NiN doesn't need promotion, Trent is probably laughing all the way to the bank. Maybe I'm getting it all wrong because I'm not American but the other bands seem to be fairly unknown? And yes so far they've been brilliant!

Yes, they are unknowns and one of them was Lynch's son's band.

Don't get me wrong, I like NiN but damn it all if that didn't feel like filler!

Don't see the point of music acts in the show. Filler material.
