I'm REALLY hoping that it leans more to the Fire Walk With Me style although I am sure I am in the minority. I was one of the few people who loved FWWM when it was first released.

Honestly, that's what terrifies me. I am so worried that it will be like FWWM and less like the original show. Lycnh has free reign and while what we may get will be cryptic, mysterious, & compelling... it just won't be enjoyable. I have watched FFWM a few times and I struggle to get through it at times. I hope it's closer to the original series.
Given it's on showtime, it'll probably be closer to FWWM. I appreciate the fact you enjoy it and yes it is a film that is cerebral, but it's at time trying to hard to be a painting no oen can figure out, as opposed to a painting that everyone loves and produces 1000 diff interpretations.

I don't think FWWM tries to be more cryptic or cerebral than the show was. I think the show had that but it also sprinkled in humor and romance which is why most people loved it. Most of it was OK but that chick with the eye patch and Ed was dumb. There was some other crap in the show added for comic relief that bugged me too. FWWM is all of the most ugly, scary, and terrifying of TP and that why I find it more fascinating. I am in love with the horror story of TP more than all of the quirky, comic filler.
