Discuss Twin Peaks

Kyle MacLachlan?

The Pacific Northwest?

What else is there that ties these shows together, if anything?

I'm actually working on some theories but would love to hear other people's input. Are David Lynch and Fred Armisen/Carrie Brownstein friends? Have they ever met? Have they ever talked about each other's shows?

I picked up a tiny tongue in cheek vibe from that article but that's also exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for.

Well done.

Fred and Carrie, for all intensive purposes are in a band of sorts. James, Donna and Laura's cousin are also in a band. Maybe fred is james and Carrie is Donna.

Who knows?!?! Maybe!

That would be incredible! It already kind of feels like a skit even in the TP world. But fred and Carrie would take it to another level.

Someone asked about cabin 13!!

What now?

Umm uhhh ummm

We've gotta post it! I can't view your blog to copy it and it looks like the board has either gone private or I'm specifically prevented from viewing it. It's up to you! Make a new thread in general touting the latest in avant garde horror! Talk about all the buzz it's getting in the other thread!

Use this if you'd like. I was going to do change the avatar last week before I decided to leave, but didn't get to it.

smile I love it! I'll try and do that today.

I listened to Tony's podcast. It was awesome. Too bad it took nearly 7 minutes to get to the best part (mentioning my name).

Hooooorchata. laughing that killed me. You suck.

And Good Riddance sucks. Excellent choice.

Was that you sobbing in the background?

RE-LAX!

From an interview with Carrie Brownstein

http://www.mustardweb.org/portlandia/

MW: He's great in Portlandia. Although whatever he does, to me he'll always be Dale Cooper. Were you a fan of Twin Peaks?

CB: Absolutely! And Portlandia is definitely inspired by that Lynchian world of Twin Peaks, where this little town had a mythical, mystical quality, you know? That very surreal, dream-like atmosphere, with its verdant colours, was such a great way of transforming the landscape of the Pacific North West into this other-worldly entity. Plus, it's just such a cool, weird show, there's never been anything like it.

...

MW: Is there a guest star that you've been trying to get on the show but you haven't managed yet?

CB: We have actually tried to get David Lynch a couple of times, and he's always been busy.

It was really good! The end really killed me. Definitely got me emotional and embarrassing.
