I actually liked the first season, does anybody have a favorite girl from the first season?

The smaller group of girls that go on for the rest of the series are great, but I really liked having a bigger group. It's a boarding school and it makes more since to have more characters. I haven't watch the show in a while,but I remember liking the other girls. Does anybody else like the first season? Do you have a favorite amongst the girls who eventually left the show?

I liked Molly Ringwald's character.

My favorite was Nancy. She was really good and was in the pilot for the show. I'm surprised they got rid of her.

I vaguely recall the first season. I wonder how they widdled the cast of 10 girls down to 3, plus newcomer Jo? For example, I would have kept Molly Ringwald's character and probably cut the Natalie character. Did they keep Blair, Tootie, and Natalie based on popularity? Or cast chemistry?
