Tim Gunn takes a group of fashion industry professionals in search of the next great designer. They interview thousands of applicants, and narrow them down to the 15 contestants for the third season of Project Runway.

Bravo follows Jay McCarroll, the winner of the first "Project Runway," as he moves to New York and begins to create and market his very own fashion line in the one-hour documentary, "Project Jay."

Eight popular designers from past seasons return to compete for $100,000. The clothiers are Daniel Vosovic, Santino Rice, Jeffrey Sebelia, Uli Herzner, Mychael Knight, Chris March, Sweet P and Korto Momolu. Nicole Kidman makes an appearance. Originally aired between seasons five and six.

17 designers start a new season with a goal to reach New York Fashion Week and become the winner of Project Runway. For their first challenge, the designers are asked to incorporate an article of clothing taken from another designer's suitcase into a new garment of their own. They have access to additional fabric, but just five hours to finish their looks.

The designers have to create a fashion forward outfit representing the strong and practical Marie Claire woman. They have $150 and one day to complete their looks.

The designers have to create an outfit from materials obtained at a party supplies store. They have $100 and one day to complete the challenge.

The designers must each create an outfit to pair with a unique, avant-garde Philip Treacy hat. They have $150 and one day to complete the challenge.

The designers are divided in teams of six and must design a trendy six-piece collection for Fall. They have $1,000 and one day to complete the challenge.

The designers must create a fashionable look from a bridesmaid dress. They have $50 and one day to complete their transformations.

In teams of two, the designers are tasked to create a fashionable resort-wear look. However, they must make the outfit using their partner's design and fabric. They have $150 and one day to complete the challenge.

The designers must create fashionable American sportswear inspired by the style of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Later, they are asked to create an outerwear companion item. They have $300 and two days to complete the challenge.

The designers must create a high-fashion look, and a ready-to-wear companion piece, that will feature in a L'Oreal Paris advertisement. They have $300 and two days to complete the challenge.

The contestants must create their own fabric designs for a look to be inspired by a moment from their past. They have $100 for supplemental fabric and two days to complete their garments.

The designers must create an outfit appropriate for Heidi Klum's New Balance activewear line. The winner of the challenge will have their design sold on Amazon. Later, Heidi increases the their workload to three outfits and provides additional help in the form of previously eliminated contestants. They have $300 and two days to complete their looks.

The designers must create a look inspired by New York City landmark locations. They have $500 and two days to complete their garments.

Each of the remaining designers is given six weeks and $9000 to design a 10-piece collection for Fashion Week. In the interim, each gets a special visit in their hometown from Tim Gunn. Back in New York, they are given two days to create one additional look to show as part of a mini-collection with two of their existing pieces in order to secure their spot in the final runway show.

In the conclusion of the finale, the remaining contestants ready their collections for the runway. Then they present their lines to industry insiders at Fashion Week. Also includes a contestant reunion.

Hosted by Tim Gunn, this hour-long special offers an in-depth look at the selection process and the inside scoop on the 20 designers chosen to be the semi-finalists for season 9.

20 new designers audition in front of Heidi, Tim, Michael, and Nina. The judges then pare the group down to the 16 contestants of season 9. The designers are each paired to a young art student with whom they must create a painting. The challenge is to design an avant-garde look using that art piece as their inspiration. They have $300 and two days to complete their looks.

The designers are split into two opposing teams to create a five-look mini-collection. They must also design their own fabrics and create a multimedia fashion show to showcase their looks. They have two days to create their garments.

The designers must create a new look for their client's significant other. They have $200 and two days to complete their outfits.

Split into two teams, the designers are asked to create outfits for up-and-coming band The Sheepdogs. They have $300 and two days to complete their looks.

The designers must create an outfit comprised of separates and inspired by the 1970s. Later, they are asked to create a single-piece companion look to their outfit. They have $150 and two days to finish their garments.

After The Runway will broadcast interviews with each week's eliminated designer and behind-the-scenes bonus features, including "in depth, roundtable debates" with the show's "standout designers" about the episode.

After being paired up, the designers must create a high-fashion runway look inspired by birds (an owl, a raven, a cockatoo, and an Amazon parrot). However, the pairing are not meant to be teams but will instead be competing head-to-head. Later, they are asked to create a second complimentary outfit. They have $600 and two days to complete the challenge.
