Discuss The Big Bang Theory

TBBT guys played Dungeons and Dragons, and I've seen it played on other shows (Freaks and Geeks and Stranger Things). I've always felt like an outsider looking in during such scenes. It's like a secret world that I know nothing about.

1.Have you ever played D&D?

2.If you enjoy it, what appeals to you most about it?

3.What is your favorite game if only board games and card games are considered? (No new-fangled computer or video games.)

Me: Clue

4.What game takes the longest to play in your own experience: D&D, Risk or Monopoly?

Me: I've only played Risk and Monopoly, and I'm not sure I've ever gotten to the end of either.

You can play the cashier whose name tag reads "Daenerys Targaryen" . That is until Penny tells the real employees that you don't really work there.

Dinorus was my favorite GoT character, so I definitely want to be her in this D&D game we'll all be playing.

1) Yes, though I never really got into it. I did play other tabletop RPGs such as Call of the Cthulhu, Vampire - The Masquerade and Cyberpunk (amongst others) fairly regularly back when I had the time.

2) As someone else said, it's "let's pretend" with rules so there's a challenge. That said, one of the reasons I never really got into D&D was that the players I met tended to be very into the rules part. The appeal to me was to tell a fun story (if running the game) or have fun if playing. Take a look here for some idea of the breadth of available games: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/

3) N/A. Prefer Playstation/PC/Phone

I Love playing Call of Cthulu, but the people I play with are thought challenged.

" The ancient artifact has been stolen. There are three promising suspects: Professor Plum, Miss Scarlet and Colonel Mustard. What do you do?"

"We ask the police what we should do."

Dungeons and Dragons is so much more straight forward.

"You see a monst…...We kill it."

Hi Philippe! It's always nice to see a new face around this board! I think I'd be like you if I played D&D- playing it to have fun with less focus on the rules. Even though I can be a lot like Sheldon in some ways, when it comes to being a stickler to game rules (or message board rules...) I just like to twirl down the path that's most fun.

And that's impressive that a group of people kept a game going for 38 years! A game and a friendship for 38 years is quite something!

Thank you. Probably a brief visit, though. I just saw the subject in the "new discussions" bit and thought I might have something to add. I have to confess that I've never got into TBBT.

That's ok. We talk about all manner of things on this board so stop by anytime!
