Which is (are) true?
A)Leonard naturally gravitates towards those who do not treat him well.
B)People with a tendency to put others down gravitate to Leonard because he's an easy target.
C)Leonard is treated poorly by those around him for no good reason.
D)Facets of Leonard's personality make him easier to mistreat.
BUT... I think some pieces are falling into place for him...maybe...
1.Leonard continues to work on the dark matter project with Bert. This was mentioned in the last episode.
2.Leonard's down-trodden-ness has really been played up the past couple of episodes (with the focus on his craving of abusive behavior).
3.Sheldon made strides in this episode towards being able to act happy for others when they succeed.
Perhaps the show is setting Leonard up for some major redemption/windfall in the form of some sort of prize/award. Agree?

A) I'd agree with this . A few episodes back proved Leonard is more comfortable being annoyed by Sheldon than not being annoyed at all.
B) Also true. Soft-spoken people tend to have that problem.
C)Refer to A and B
D) True

A. No. - Who does not treat him well? (It’s not as if he gravitated toward Beverly—that was an accident-of-birth.) And, yes he has been put-upon (mostly by Sheldon); but, can’t think of anyone he has gravitated towards who did not/does not treat him well. (Are we counting Joyce Kim(?), the spy?)
B. No. - When it comes to “putdowns” think there are enough by-each-directed-at-each to go around. No one singles out Leonard anymore than they do anyone else (the way Howard does Raj). Think it’s a case of every dog has its day.
C. No. - Don’t see where anyone treats him badly. Even with mom (who has gotten better); I’d go with iffy parenting skills over deliberately treating him badly. Group-wise, I think he has the best one-on-one rapport with each member than anyone else (except Howard/Raj—with each other).
D. True (partially). - Don't think: "easier to mistreat" – more like “easier to take advantage of”. Leonard is a Mr.-Nice-Guy through-and-through; and has a hard time saying no, at times when he should, and/or calling someone on their “S”. So, yes, gotta give that one a partial.

I see what you're saying, in that everyone in the group picks on each other. I know that Leonard isn't singled out. But he does seem the most downtrodden of the group, kind of like the Charlie Brown of the group, which I've stated before. And so I guess that is why any insults aimed at him stand out a bit more to me. Or perhaps is why I feel sorrier for him than the others . Also, I don't seem to remember him firing back with the insults as much as some of the others do.

Leonard is a bore. And you Lemons are the Little Red Haired Girl of the board, well Little Lemon Haired Girl of the board.

Well, Leonard did get the figurative Little Red Haired Girl of the show, so he can at least grin a squinty grin about that.
And you're sweet, Z.

I see Penny as more of a Sally than a LRHG

But then that would make Leonard in love with his sister, assuming Leonard is Charlie Brown.
On a side note, I'm going to put answers in your fabulous new thread but it might be tomorrow. My brain is getting mushy at this late hour.

Could Penny be Peppermint Patty? But she was always too interested in "Chuck" even when he wasn't particularly interested in HER. In terms of "pursuit," Penny would need to be the Little Red-Haired Girl, but Charlie Brown never did get anywhere with her. That basically ended with "our children will be smart AND beautiful!"

I'm not sure Penny falls neatly in line with any of the Peanuts characters. Perhaps a mix of LRHG (the one sought after and admired), Sally (blonde) and Peppermint Patty (tomboyish).

That was actually really sad.

Can we agree on Marcie as Amy and Linus as Raj or Howard . How about Stephen Hawking as Snoopy ?

Amy as Marcie, yes. Linus...hmmm....I guess Raj or Howard fits the best. I say Bernie is Lucy. And Snoopy...well he's Charlie Brown's trusted sidekick, so who is Leonard's trusty sidekick? I don't think this show has a Snoopy.

Cinnamon maybe Or Zazzles. Could Penny be Woodstock ? How about Beverly as Charlie Browns teacher, the one that goes..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_BU5hR9gXE
