My perspective on on it is that all close friends make fun each other and it's only a problem when nothing you say is constructive.
I think Raj overreacted and his confidence issues have little to do with Howard's ribbing.
Sheldon and Amy should hire a wedding planner to help them compromise on the event since Sheldon had confirmed he wants a "real" wedding.
One more point: Raj looks 100x better with curly hair. He should keep it that way.

Howard probably takes it too far especially since he would be such an easy target if Raj were inclined to return the insults. Raj saying that he straightens his hair was too far fetched for me at this point in the show. Amy and Sheldon would then argue with the wedding planner to no end and go through a series of them.

I don't think Raj overreacted, and actually thought the storyline made a lot of sense. I agree with Z that at least Sheldon would fight with a wedding planner, although I could see Amy submitting to one.
Agree with you 100% on Raj's hair, though. Curls are sexy.

The curls are more Kunal and less Raj, which is always a good thing 😊

Raj is entitled to how he feels--but, I don't think it's all on Howard. There are other (underlying?) issues. Three that come readily to mind are: his love-life (lack); stalled career, and all that "spoon-feeding" by Mommy & Daddy.
Sheldon and Amy would have to hire many wedding planners before the deed is done. To know Sheldon is to love Sheldon; but, when it comes to outsiders trying to deal with him, he quickly provokes their fight-or-flight response.
Even though the hair looked strange and not-quite-him, appearance-wise, it knocked off a few years. I guess because you usually think of curly hair and kids.

About Raj's hair straightening. Seriously in all these years he never mentioned it or straightened his hair when he was with Howard and Bernie. Did he straighten his hair when he was at the North Pole ? His parents would have surly have asked "Raj what happened to you naturally curly hair ? Did your new American friends tell you to straightened it? Why Raj Why ?"

Well, we are not with them 24/7--so, who is to say that all you said didn't happened?
As for the North Pole, it is not as if it would have to be done every day. The top-shelf salons (and Raj could afford the best) can do-you-up, and it'll last for months. Depending on how fast his hair grows, all Raj would need is a little touch-up-in-a-bottle to see him through any extended away time.
Even so, I agree with you.
Please pay special attention to Howard's hair.

Getting away from the hair, this is a perfect example of why Sheldon is such a polarizing character. It was his apartment first, and he should definitely have a say in what gets brought into it. Maybe he doesn't like leather couches (husband and I don't), maybe he hates the color brown, maybe he just wants to be consulted before furniture is purchased. All perfectly reasonable. But seeing as how we know he is such a control freak and a perfectionist, and how he is so unbending and unwilling to compromise (at least until recently), one can see why someone like Leonard would just do what they want and deal with the fallout later. Of course, at this point in their relationship, Leonard had no clue how rigid Sheldon was.

They covered that (basically) in the flashback episode showing how the elevator got ruined. Sheldon complained that Leonard hadn't notified him, as required by the agreement. But Leonard had, by sending him an email. Sheldon didn't get it because he started sending all of Leonard's emails to "spam" after Leonard sent him some kind of "this is funny" email with a picture/video of a monkey playing a piano, or something. So, Sheldons' fault.

Up to a point.
But, when a "normal-person" agrees to share space with another person (and take their $$$), they don't expect to STILL have exclusive rights to all decisions regarding that space. Only a Sheldon-type would expect the person who is paying-half-the-freight to go along with whatever he dictates.
Also, I never thought his objection was about the sofa, itself; but about the fact that it was a "change"; something that he has said (more than once) he hated.
As for Leonard not having a clue:
Didn't that Roommate Agreement contain a 'bathroom schedule'?
