It was sort of spooky hearing Howard's mother again. I'm assuming they used existing recordings. I really don't think anyone could impersonate the late Ms. Susi that well.
The flashback caused a glitch in continuity. Amy would have remembered meeting Penny even though she lies about her name. Yet, nothing was said when they met.

Yes you are right on both counts. Hearing Ms Wolowitz was spooky but fun too. I also was puzzled by the Amy scene. Overall I thought the episode had potential but also ran through the same old stuff. The boys have a plan, Sheldon is left out, Sheldon is jealous and plots revenge. I was suspecting that Sheldon had the flash drive and was hoping that Stuart would get it. Having Stuart erase it was dumb. Why wouldn't he look at what was in it first ? If Stuart ended up with the bitcoins the story line would have good potential for the future. It was nice to see Zack. I have to say that Young Sheldon was much better all the way through.

This could be a way for Stuart to have some success, at least financially, if he looks at it first and figures out what it is. But there's also a possibility that even if he looked, he wouldn't realize what it was.
Frankly, if Stuart figures it out and keeps the money - finders keepers, losers weepers - it would still be Sheldon's responsibility to cover the loss of Leonard, Howard, and Raj. I wonder if we'll see more about that, or if it will be another of those things that's never mentioned again.

I just re-watched the ep. Stuart found the flashdrive 4 years ago, so it's a safe bet he didn't look at it.
BTW, zexnyish, I don't believe we've met. A pleasure. :handshake_tone1:

Oh, was there something about the time at the bottom of the screen? I couldn't see the bottom from my desk. And I couldn't record tonight's episode because the DTV converter box that feeds into my home-made DVR stopped working. I've ordered another, I hope it arrives before next week's episode.

And wasn't Batman on Leonard's keychain, one of the things Penny took away and put in storage without Leonard knowing?

You must have had trouble keeping track of what era the various scenes were in, I did and I could see the time stamps. Not sure about Penny snatching the keychain. I guess it's possible.

I guess there were other clues about Stuart finding the keychain not just recently, beyond actual "4 years ago" titles or whatever; such as the appearance of his store. But when I'm not recording and seeing the show on the computer monitor in front of me, the regular TV is across the living room from the dining room so details like that would be harder to see even aside from not seeing date subtitles.
And Penny taking the Batman from his keychain is more than just possible, it's specifically said in the episode "The Veracity Elasticity" season 10 episode 7.
But if they're saying that Stuart found the Batman memory stick 4 years ago, and that episode with Penny moving his stuff was just 1 year ago, that must have been a different Batman. But I didn't see that it was 4 years ago, when I wrote that.

I was startled by the mention of "Avatar". Haven't heard anything about that movie in years. And did Leonard say that Raj dressed up as Avatar for a party ? What does that mean ? I took it as a mediocre episode made up of so so bits. Except for Zack. Let's not over analyze the time frame, I don't think the writers did. I also thought is was a lost opportunity to have Stuart lose out at the end again.
And :handshake_tone1: to you too, jetfire

In a way it was kind of a clip show, as someone mentioned they would like to see for a series finale. Except the "clips" they used were flashbacks, not scenes that actually were in previous episodes.

I mentioned the clip show idea. "Seinfeld" had a 2 part clip show that was perfectly satisfying before the awful real ending. While not everyone is a fan of clip shows I would prefer one to a laugh and a hug ending. Those can go so wrong trying to tie up and unnecessarily tie up story lines. I don't care if anyone wins a Noble prize or has another baby or marriage, or moves into the apartment when the gang moves on.

That's all true, although there's a certain completion that could come from showing Sheldon interviewing a new roommate, a possibility that has been mentioned in the past. Which new TV show would he assume would be on forever? etc. And I'd get a certain satisfaction from it myself since it would support my contention that, despite all the claims to the contrary, Sheldon really hasn't "grown" in any significant way since Season One.

Yeah. Really caught me out at first. But, kind of nice to hear him-and-her-go-at-it one more time.

And fortunate that there was no requirement to mess it up for legal reasons. There was a clip-show/"flashbacks" episode of Charmed after Shannen Doherty had left the show, where they basically had to use trickery to remove her/character from scenes that she was definitely in, originally. Some were probably re-shot for that purpose. And in the series finale of Beverly Hills, 90210 (the original), Doherty was also "scrubbed" from group photos from earlier in the series that were shown, that she was in.
It would have been sad if, for example, Ms Susi had left the show under bad circumstances and they used someone else - maybe Melissa Rauch - to do "her" voice for the flashbacks.

Don't think I'd remember a waitress from several years ago even if she gave me her correct name.
No offense; but a server is usually just "a face in the crowd"; someone you see once and never think of again. Not only that, but these places (especially if they are big and busy) can have such a turnover, that even if you go periodically, you may not be served by the same person twice.
Also, she didn't actually meet Penny; she asked her to take a picture. I think of "meet" as both parties exchanging names.
Of course, it Amy had Sheldon's memory then Yes!

And as I recall - can't check a recording because my homemade DVR wasn't working last night - Penny said her name was Bernadette. Wasn't that to Amy?
