I would probably see this show going for at most another few seasons more. So what could be successfully done in the next few seasons? Chuck also has said it will probably end after 12 seasons.

So whats the perfect way to end it all?

I'd say end it HUGE like Sheldon discovers something monumental and wins the Nobel Peace Prize and the whole gang is there listening to his acceptance speech. He then rips all the gang a new one but then ends it with saying how much they all contributed to him winning the Nobel Peace Prize. I'd like Leonard and Penny to have a kid. Sheldon and Amy get married.

But most of all Raj needs to finally find the one and get married as well. Maybe they all can go to India for a BIG Indian wedding!

Raj would probably be happy just with some kind of big Bollywood style dance production thing. As long as he gets to dance with Howard.

Except for the Sheldon ripping the gang a new one part—OK

But, I have his acceptance speech be a thinly veiled love_letter from Team Big Bang to its fans for their Loyalty and Support over the years.

Also, wouldn’t mind seeing some “oldies” at the ceremony—Leslie/Kripke/ The HR Lady/Gablehauser/Siebert /Cousin Leo/Tiny Spock/I know there are others, but can’t think of them right now.

As for my own perfect ending…

I'd like a bit more “real world”. That is, with each person or couple doing what we do in real life. We go our separate way because of whatever. Everyone promises to "keep in touch"; but, knows deep down that as time passes life will get in the way; and some will—some wont.

Yeah. I know it’s a comedy—but, what the heck? They dropped a piano on a certain short pants, bowling shirt wearing character in the "goodbye" episode of another long-running sitcom—and it worked!

I'd like it to end the same way EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND ended. A regular episode with a dash of drama that shows everyone how much they all mean to them. In ELR they had a small medical emergency for Ray, but it turned out fine really quick. But it made everyone realize how much everyone else meant. Then they ended it with a normal family dinner. So maybe have TBBT gang have a final dinner in the apartment, with the guys debating comics and Star Trek, while the girls talk about whatever girls talk about.

I don't want some big splashy finale. No wedding. No huge move for one or more of the cast. Why? Because those usually fall flat, or are overdone, and usually are anything but funny.

I thought how ELR ended was perfect. We see them as we first saw them. That's how I'd like to remember TBBT gang. Not how I think of SEINFELD and how terrible that stupid finale was.

Why do you have an issue with Sheldon tearing everyone a new one. That's literally what he does in every episode. He makes the rest of the gang question why they are even friends with him in the first place. So you'd want him to just be a graceful humble person accepting the nobel peace prize after 12 seasons of being the complete opposite? That wouldn't even make sense.

WOW you actually made me wanna to binge ELR. I never really got into that show for some reason. But I find Ray Romano to be funny.

Yeah Seinfeld finale was awful. In fact I find Seinfeld to be one of the most overrated shows in all of tv history. I get that it was insanely successful and popular, but if I had the choice to watch reruns of Seinfeld and TBBT I'd chose TBBT any day hands down.

If you binge ELR, be patient. The first couple of seasons it's really finding it's footing, and pivots to standard sitcom plot points until they get the characters developed. Then the dynamic between the cast is HILARIOUS until the end of the series.

I know the OP asked how we want it to end, but I'm not sure how I want it to end. My mind is fairly open there. These are my predictions, though:

1.Sheldon (possibly along with Leonard) wins Nobel prize in physics for his work with Bert. Bert, of course, wins, too.

2.Sheldon and Amy get married but don't have kids.

3.Bernie's company offers her a promotion and but she has to move. Last episode they move away.

4.Raj stays single through end of show.

5.Leonard and Penny have a baby in last episode. Leonard confirms that their children are indeed smart and beautiful.

How sad you are keeping Raj single? You meanie!

Who deserves to be single more than Raj?

Sheldon?

In general, I could agree. But Raj arguably treats his women worse than Sheldon does.

But you can argue that all of the guys were clueless and still are when it comes to women. Raj just happened to be the most clueless. Also he's from a foreign country where there is probably a ton of sexism and misogyny which is very unfortunate plus you add the fact that he comes from a place where they have servants doing everything for him so he is socially system wise awkward.

Raj also was by far the worst off of the guys since if you recall he needed alcohol just to be able to speak to them at all in the beginning. Raj has come a long way.

Finally I think Raj needs to merry an American in order to officially stay in the USA right?

Raj is supposed to be renting a place above Bert's garage now, and not taking his parents' money. But his attitudes and behavior don't seem to have changed any.

And it's not even necessarily about being clueless. The Leonard/Penny and Howard/Bernadette pairings work. And as odd as Sheldon is, and as unlikely as I think someone like Amy is, putting up with Sheldon's nonsense, I think it's even less likely Raj could find someone who would put up with his insecurities etc.

Raj hasn't really come a long way. Like Howard said in the past, he was always a jerk, women just didn't hear it unless he was drinking. Now he doesn't need to be drinking for women to know he's a jerk, same as always. If anything that's going backwards for him, because in the past women didn't know right off that he was a jerk, unless he was drinking. Now it's immediate.

As long as Raj is working for Sheldon or whatever the situation is now, his position is relatively safe. And he could apply for permanent residency and/or citizenship on his own. But he may not even want to be legally an American; and getting married to a citizen would be easier plus mean he could continue to claim to be Indian legally. Which somehow seems to be important to him no matter how much he complains about India.

I kind of liked the sort of ending in the episode where the gang decides to meet each other in 20 years. Cut to Stuart driving up in his cool light up future car and no one else is there for the reunion. Sad I know but so true.

When did Raj's sister get married? The one who dated Leonard.
