First of all I'd like to commend the writers on the Geology Methodology. Personally I think it's the best episode of the season so far,AND one of the best overall.

I love Ruchi for two reasons. First she's diabolically cynical. It's become a common trope in romantic comedies: the cynic who believes love is purely biochemical meets someone , falls in love, and it changes their mind. It's the plot of about 1000 movies ( 27 Dresses anyone?)

NO, I don't think Raj is going to change her mind but I think the contrast in the way they think and approach relationships is providing a spark through sexual tension. It's going to be a mostly physical relationship and she's probably going to break his heart which sucks for Raj who's batting well below the Mendoza line with women already.

The second reason I love Ruchi Is because she's clearly heavily into sports. You don't see many women in TV shows hitting up bars by themselves to watch sports, it's usually a woman who's a tomboy and is in a predominantly male social group.

Im Not claiming there are any feminist undertones there but that's a nice subtle touch by the writers to go against what's typical on TV.

Another point : Sheldon's attitude sucks. No scientist worth his or her salt degrades other sciences as unimportant. And I'm not counting researchers who reject the practically of certain scientific practices and have reasons to do so ,like rejecting another presented hypothesis... or trying to disprove something...that's different and part of the job. What Sheldon does is Anti-intellectual.There can never be an unimportant science and no scientific endeavor should be scoffed at.

Just because Geology isn't as academically glamorous as Physics or Chemistry doesn't mean it isn't significant or impactful.

You'd think Sheldon would have realized how rocks help tell the story about the origins of the universe, before having them waved in his face as "natural dark matter detectors" just so they might be useful to his current line of research. Maybe they're not sufficiently ethereal for him. Or maybe they're something he encountered in the past, gave up on for some reason that made them too difficult for him, and now he ridicules for that reason more than anything else. We've been shown that's his pattern when he encounters something he can't easily master. (Or at least convince himself that he's mastered, such as swimming after reading a book and practicing on the floor.)

Just a bit of clarity?

Which is supposed to be the "unpopular opinion"--your take on Ruchi? OR your comment on Sheldon's attitude?

A lot of people don't like Ruchi, maybe not here, but definitely on other forums. So I consider it an unpopular opinion.

Gotta get around more; because I find that surprising. She IS the total package.

Intelligent, educated, beautifully, confident, refreshingly unconventional (without being creepy like Emily) when it comes to relationships, speaks her mind, AND she appears fun to be with and fun to be around.

Raj, and even Stuart, seems a bit more tolerable in her presence.

What’s not to like?

Ruchi is okay but I fear she might go the way of Isabella and the Dodo. She has only been in two episodes and had to play second sitar to Raj and Stuarts desires. Raj might need a Ruchi but why the heck would Ruchi want Raj ? So far the show has had three woman I liked but a lot of fans didn't, Leslie, Priya, and now Ruchi. Ruchi yes. Ra-chi no. Ruchi seems to be looking for searching for someone to watch cricket with primarily.

Did not like Leslie, loved Priya - jury is still out on Ruchi, but I'm not turned off yet.

She did sleep with him twice according to Raj (who I admit could be embellishing their hook-ups) so maybe she's just one of those girls that will treat a guy like a cat with a toy and drop him when she gets bored.

Also, it's impossible to have studied for a PHD in a science and not have studied Geology at some point. All the sciences converge in most undergrad programs so students have a balanced perspective.

Thought Leslie was grand. (Especially liked her as Sheldon's verbal "Moriarty".)

Couldn't bear Priya. (Think it was more about the actress than the character--didn't find her charismatic at all. Saw her in another show--felt the same way.)

Think Ruchi is great. (For reasons stated above+.)

Like Ruchi even more now that it's been shown that she has "fangs".

Almost fell of the chair when Bernie called her a "B". Kinda nice to see Tiny-Terror meet-her-match.

But, since she dumped Raj that's probably the last we'll see of her--too bad.

I've learned, never get attached Raj's women, because they won't be around for long! stuck_out_tongue

Yeah.

He is zero for too many to count!

Maybe now they'll show us Stuart's attempt with Ruchi? Or would that just be a waste of precious show minutes?

Now they will have to show us how Bernie gets back at that meddling Ruchi. Mwa-Ha-Ha !!

Wouldn't want to be Ruchi.

Any woman who whose sweet and saintly smile can cause a guy's testicles to hide in his abdomen--is NOT to be messed with!
