Perfect song for that Montage. Also using Bad Fingers Baby Blue to end the show was great. "I guess I got what I deserved" "The special love I had for you.....My baby blue"

I wonder how long they knew they'd be using each of those songs - and how far down the road it would be until they could use them - since they developed blue meth at the end of S1?

Similarly, wonder if they had the Wendy montage in mind when they named Wendy's character, back in S1...

I read something that in final season Vince Gilligan knew he would end series w Baby Blue and was already securing the rights for the song. Everyone else thought the song would be cheesy and tried to talk him out of it. He pulled rank. Said that song would be played. Glad he did. I thought that was perfect song to end show

Think it worked well, especially since it was not that well known of a song - that all changed after the Felina. CBP, on the other hand, was already well known, but worked perfectly, not only from the lyrics, but also the mood of the song - a carefree passing of time - business as usual, as the meth train empire kept rolling along.

That has to be one of the best constructions and handling of a montage ever. They even hit the right shots of characters many times to match the lyrics; it was so meticulous.

I like when it's "People are changing" and they cut to Lydia, who has had a change of heart to cooperate with Walt all the way versus her original stance where she wanted to put a hit out on everyone...They also cut to her sipping tea with "All of his children, in every nation", which is interesting because she is like an extension of him, a child of the meth empire he's also providing for because she's getting a big cut, and much younger...These are just two of many examples.

Love the ending too how they had all the Vamanos Pest houses popping up to show the growth of that, and the camera was "gliding over" the houses so the title of the episode also was referred to many times, with that camera angle, and also with Walt finally reaching his peak gliding over the drug industry. But still, I think my favorite part might be when they cut to Saul in the interlude getting the bag of money and pouring a drink lol.

Also, the song I read was originally related to enlightenment, and now that Walt is on top and building his meth empire, he's seeing the light finally. Unfortunately, it didn't last too long.
