De Croods hebben moeite om hun doel te vinden op de boerderij van Betterman en zien een kans om hun waarde te bewijzen door Phil's gevaarlijke (en kleverige) stuiterbessen te oogsten.

Wanneer Eep alleen wil zijn met haar nieuwe vriendin Dawn, gaat Guy zelf op zoek naar een nieuwe vriend en vindt daarbij het onwaarschijnlijke gezelschap van Thunk.

De Bettermans nodigen de Croods uit voor hun spelletjesavond, en Phil wil winnen en Grug haat verliezen. Wanneer de strijd losbarst, zetten Phil en Grug alles op alles.

Na een ongeluk bij het kraaivraatglijden verliest Dawn haar zelfvertrouwen en vertelt ze Eep dat ze niet meer mee op avontuur wil. Eep overtuigt haar voor een laatste avontuur: de Grrr-berg beklimmen.

Hope gaat haar boekje te buiten door Sandy te proberen opvoeden en Ugga neemt wraak door haar uit te dagen voor het onmogelijke: Thunk manieren bijbrengen.

Ugga heeft een geheim: ze gaat met Eep 'floppen met de stierrussen', een leuke en gevaarlijke hobby die Ugga als kind had. Ugga's enthousiasme gaat liggen wanneer Hope zichzelf en Dawn uitnodigt.
