Bouncers at a New York City nightclub are entrusted to maintain the peace, but they can't help but get themselves into trouble. When Martin, a small town newcomer, comes to Big Vic's aid in a fight with a gang of thugs, he earns himself a spot on the team. Martin happily joins the brotherhood of bouncers. However, he soon realizes that not everything is as straightforward as it seems when the bouncers show him the crooked ways they bring in the big money.

When left alone to guard the club's back door, Martin quickly finds himself in over his head. During off hours, the bouncers try to teach Martin how to pick up chicks after he starts to fall for a girl at the club. Meanwhile, the club faces mounting problems from a nearby rival.
