Isn't that supposed to be like 10 years or more before TOS?
Lt. Kyle would probably be too young. As would be Chekov and the others in the Jar Jar Trek movies.

Many more characters from (S)TOS are expected to appear. For example popular Lt. Leslie. This time played by an actress (?).

Anyway this episode sounds like kind of a reverse of "The Paradise Syndrome." Mixed with a bit of "For The World Is Hollow..."
