Genre cleanup & consolidation

Hello everyone,
It's finally time to take a look at the genres we use and make some tweaks. This post might get a little lengthy but I'll try to cover what I know right now.
First, here's a list of the movie genres on TMDb:

Onbviously, one of the things you might notice is that there are actually other genres in use on TMDb, but are not located in the above list. This is part of what we need to look at.
My initial proposal for TMDb's new set of genres is going to be the following:

Do you guys have anything else you think deserves to be on this list?

Hello folks, I’m new here, the reason I joined up was I use XBMC on my HTPC and have had great luck scrapping my collection, however one was missed (They Had to See Paris (1929)) so I joined and added it. After joining I started looking around and noticed that there seems to be no Film Noir genre options and that makes me sad, I am a huge Noir fan and would love to filter my collection and pull up all my Noir films. Is there a reason this genre option was removed and if I begged enough would it come back? This is not a complaint; you guys are doing good work.

"Kids", is something that should be added as Family is not the same as Kids by any means. Third party software like XBMC (which is what many people use), has a Kids category that can be utilized specifically.

Could you please add "Biographie" for French version and if you agree "Comédie dramatique"

If we keep a greater number of genres (which almost seems inevitable) it might be worth having a tooltip definition or something so that the person editing is able to see the intention (so that, for example, they don't choose 'music' where 'musical' is appropriate).

Is it possible to add the genre "erotic" to the list, if yes could you add it?

I would agree on adding "erotic" as there is movies with strong sexual content but that are not porn.

Would it be possible to cleanup the french database for Genre or unlock some movies to manualy clean them ?
For some movies we have 2 duplicates Genre (in French)
Sport and Sports Film ==> Sport
Musical and Musique ==> Musical

I like the new list...and pleased to see Biography included....
I to thought about martial arts, but as has been said can be listed in Plot Keywords.
