Nobody cares about C’s safety. Emhyr thought he could get his daughter by attacking Cintra. Calanthe kept the last cub of her bloodline in Cintra until escaping was impossible. Both forgot that mages can open portals.
BTW, I think Mousesack was supposed to take C to Brokilon Forest. Remember some weirdo ate a piece of skin of Calanthe’s dead arm? Then F cut him open and found out that C would be at Brokilon Fores. I think that Calanthe told Mousesack and Lazlo to take C there if things go bananas.
Well, I wouldn’t put it that way. That’s kind of graphic.
But yeah, I’m supposed to enjoy G and ignore the rest. But for some reason my brain is processing other stuff too. Not good!
TW geek, not TW nerd, smart arse. And no, I’m neither.
If you pay less attention to why I watch TW and more to actually watch TW, you'd know that what I wrote wasn’t so far fetched. G does use his nose. You can see him inhale deep when he’s trying to find out what happened in the abandoned town in S01E01 and when he finds C’s sash in the leshi’s hand in S01E03. So scent could be the reason why he needed to find C’s room. Why would he think C would still be hiding in her room? Logic dictates that she should be the first to flee (Mousesack portal her out of Cintra). As long as she lives, Calanthe’s bloodline will continue. She’s also the only legitimate queen of Cintra.
Unless I’m missing something, a lot of weird things do happen. Where to begin with my rant of this week? I’ll just copy what I wrote on other boards.
Francesca knows that humans betrayed the elves in the past. She is surrounded by Nilfgaards. She just had a baby and can use some extra protection, but she breaks her alliance with F. Someone kills her baby right after that stupid decision and she thinks is Redania, not Nilfgaard.
Without scouting Nivellen’s mansion first, G leaves C alone in a room to take a bath. Being naked in a bathtub makes C extra vulnerable. So G should have stayed with her and sit with his back to her or stay outside near the door and talk to Nivellen. I guess that’s boring for a series. So G leaves C and go into the dining room, because he blindly believes Nivellen when he says that C is safe.
G doesn’t know where the bruxa is, but he tells C to go to Roach outside. The bruxa could be outside. Roach isn’t hidden somewhere. The bruxa can see Roach from the front windows too. If the bruxa is in the mansion, it’ll see C go to Roach and fly to her. It doesn’t need the stairs.
“They won’t remember anything by tomorrow,” V tells G. “Certainly not how they got here.” So the hookers will never leave Kaer Morhen? Unless, they’re drugged, drunk or blindfolded, they’ll remember the way back to the cold feet of the cold mountain where Eskel supposedly found them.
Lambert is busy with two hookers and another Witcher is hugging a fully naked one, but G tells Eskel, who’s just kissing a fully clothed hooker, to go somewhere else.
G doesn’t know where C is. V tells him he sent her to bed. When the leshy attacks, instead of making sure C’s in her room, G listens to what V says. (“Do what you do best. Stay and fight.”) G has a stepdaughter now. He can’t do what he does best, if he doesn’t know where C is. Just awhile ago, he told her to stay in the lab, but she decided to check out the debauchery in the living room. So G can’t blindly trust she’s in her room sleeping.
V throws an ax at the leshi and it gets stuck to its chest. The leshi pulls it out and get away. Why doesn’t it pull the hooks out? It has arms and hands. It pulled out the ax that wasn’t really a problem, but it leaves the hooks in that are being used to pull him back and restrain him.
“I know what killed him,” Lambert tells G. If he means G killed Eskel, was G supposed to let Eskel kill V? Lambert wasn’t there to know that G didn’t try everything before killing Eskel. If he means C killed Eskel, then that doesn’t make any sense. Nobody knows about the link between C and the leshy yet.
The Myriadpod clearly doesn’t want to kill C, but she doesn’t tell G that. She tells G that she doesn’t think the chernobog wanted to hurt her. IMO, the chernobog doesn’t give her any reason to think that.
Why does Istredd think that Y, a mage like him, would try to escape Aretuza like a non-mage person would? She can portal in and/or out of Aretuza. T and F do it. So why can’t Y? She lost her magic, but Istredd doesn’t know.
V is eager to make new Witchers, but he agrees to use the source of the most important ingredient as test subject. If C dies, her blood dies with her. No more Witchers.
What guarantee does V have that the Trial Of The Grasses won’t contaminate C’s blood? She survives the trial, but you can’t use her blood anymore. Again, no more Witchers.
V doesn’t even bother tell C that the trial sterilizes male Witchers. That could happen to female Witchers too.
Y’s on the run from The Brotherhood and the rulers of six Kingdoms and Istredd casually tells G, a stranger, that she might seek refuge in Cintra. What guarantee does he have that the stranger won’t tell those who are after Y?
The name dropping looks so forced, to me. G already knows Y saved the Continent from Nilfgaard, because Tissaia told him. Istredd doesn’t have to mention the name of the woman who saved the Continent from Nilfgaard. G can realize the woman in his story is Y.
I don’t see why G should know Istredd loves Y. If it’s necessary for some sub-plot, then let G be the one to mention Y’s name. Shocked by the good news, G asks Istredd if Y indeed survived. He should mention the whole name to be sure Istredd is talking about Y-of-V.
Why does Istredd think that Y would seek refuge in Cintra? Cintra belongs to Nilfgaard. Y burned thousands of Nilfgaardian soldiers at Sodden. She ruined Nilfgaard plans to conquer the north. The logical thing to think is that Y would stay away from Cintra. The emperor may kill her and maybe Cahir too for failing.
Y thinks that saving Cahir puts her in Nilfgaard’s good books. But Y knows that F wanted to sacrifice her to save herself. F is a mage, not the commander of the army, and she feared Emhyr would kill her for failing. Why does Y think that Emhyr wouldn’t kill Cahir, the commander of the army, for failing?
G tells Y to recite the Hut spell. They teleport to where the Hut is. How do they get back to their horses? So far, VM seems to be the one that must teleport you back. Seems to be the case with Y, F and Francesca.
And that’s the rant of this week.

Brokilon Forest, Melitele, Kaer Morhen or the edge of the damn world. He should have portaled her somewhere outside of Cintra.
Well, TW geek, you can say TW sucks and move on. Making a list of everything that sucked won’t change anything.
Exactly, humans can’t be trusted. But Francesca blindly trust elf Dara who’s a spy. He could be lying, because he’s angry that Redania doesn’t need him anymore.
Very cold, but the hookers are dressed in summer clothes and shoes. Their butts probably froze on the way down the mountain.
They didn’t try enough? The leshi was growing.
Because that BS will make the Y-is-a-spy crap from Stregobor make sense. Needless to say that it doesn’t. Mages can portal in and out of Aretuza. Even F can still do that. For all we know, Rience is hiding in a closet.
Google translates that too literally. I think you should say what guarantees the Trial Of The Grasses won’t contaminate C’s blood.
It was. The writers love to force things into the story. They don’t care if it makes sense or looks natural. Roy’s a good actor, but he couldn’t deliver that convincingly.
Maybe Cahir can convince Y to join Nilfgaard. Emhyr can use someone who can use fire chaos without dying.

That’s one way.
Perhaps not that kind of power. She’s a mage. Does she know or care about politics?
She thanks Tissaia for saving her.
I agree that righting a wrong is not a sacrifice. However, she should explain why she couldn’t sacrifice C. Perhaps in a way that includes powerful and powerless kids?

I could, but I won't. Time flies when I'm posting on the forums. It seems to freeze when there isn't much to do around here. And I want to go home. I have some chicken teriyaki waiting for me.
Anyway, a lot of people are already saying that TW sucks without explaining why they think that. And you have those who think TW's a flawless master piece because of the high RT rating. I could leave the b*tching and praising to those two groups, but I need to relieve my brain of TW knowledge. You can blame HC and his quest to become a beacon of purity for that. Me b*tching is what you get when HC doesn't show enough chest hair or any skin worth getting excited about. Without delicious visual cues to make me drool and fantasize, my brain will spend it's capacity on processing and analyzing the story instead.
Did they all escape? Some may still be hiding in the closet.
The fully naked one, the one dancing with Coen and the one in the silver skirt weren't in the group that fled with the Madam.
Yes, it grew, but G didn't try enough, IMO.
IMO, Eskel's story made sense till LSH explained why she turned him into a leshi and killed him. If memory serves, she said that G and Eskel were good friends or something like that. So G immediately noticed that something was wrong with Eskel. OK. C kills three Witchers while they’re sleeping and two are killed by her basilisks. Still, G’s willing to do everything to save her. Eskel killed one hooker and strangled V a little and G went for the fire through the heart.
If the writers want me to believe Eskel meant something to G, then they should have let G try a few more things before killing him. He could have cut, stabbed and/or burned some of his tentacles. He’d have let V loose. It let G go when he burned him with a torch.
Anyway, I really love how the Eskel-leshy looks. It is my favorite monster this season. The writers should have let it grow some more. Let it break the walls, flour and ceiling of the room. Kaer Morhen is in a mountain. Things can go bananas if you break the pillars holding the ceiling/roof. That would have been awesome. G would have had no choice than to kill him.
Y just walks in on the whole Chapter in a room. What stopped her from burning them all? What’s stopping her from burning the whole building? It’s not the first time that she returns to Aretuza. She was hiding from them and then suddenly came back after Vilgefortz told her blah, blah. Nobody called her a spy. Now that she fought on their side and helped them win, she’s a spy?
How can you trust someone that powerful? Emhyr doesn’t know what Y can do with fire. Can she just create it or is her whole body immune to fire too? If Y’s whole body is immune to fire, she can turn herself into a boll of fire and burn everything around her. The best thing Emhyr can do is kill her if he can. At least, she won’t be able to burn his army anymore.
How can a mage advice and/or persuade a King to do something if she doesn’t know politics? A wrong advice could start a war or a revolt.
I don’t expect Y to be in the Chapter. But Istredd got a chance to talk to them. Why can’t the heroine? She let Tissaia do all the talking for her.
Y should have at least have a chance to give Stregobor and Artorius a piece of her mind. Those two old wind bags refused to fight in Sodden. Now Stregobor thinks that things can grow beyond their capabilities. Who's more capable of keeping enemies at bay than the one who can use fire chaos without dying? The logical thing to do is to keep her happy and on your side. You can always plan something behind her back.
From what? From being helpless and abused? From being a hunchback? From dying after cutting her wrists? From a life without knowing how to control her chaos? Tissaia needs girls that can do magic to keep her Academy open. When she couldn’t find any, she accepted girls that couldn’t do magic.
So Tissaia will do whatever she can to keep her lifestyle, her way of life. She only cares for Y because she can sense that she possesses great chaos. That may come in handy and it did. But she won’t allow Y to be her equal, let alone be above her. She should have pleaded for Y to have a seat in the Chapter. She’s the heroine of the Battle Of Sodden Hill. Maybe you need to have chaos to be part of the Chapter, but Tissaia seems to be the only one who can sense that Y lost her chaos. She can keep it a secret. With Y in the Chapter, she’d have had one more person on her side to vote against Stregobor and Artorius. But it was more important to keep Y out than made her an ally and equal. At least, that's how I see it.
IMO, Y shouldn’t explain why she didn't or couldn't sacrificing C. She should explain why she wanted to sacrifice her. Start with she was abused when she was a helpless child without chaos. The chaos made her strong. The chaos was everything to her. So when she lost it, she panicked. The idea of being helpless and abused terrified her and she couldn’t think straight. She was desperate. But then she realized that she wasn’t a helpless child anymore. She doesn’t need chaos to be strong.

Sacrifice must have a different meaning to English speakers or this sacrifice crap is just another example of crappy writing.
Y makes the righting a wrong thing very clear. I think J repeats it too. Y admits that she brought C into that mess. She doesn’t get to right the wrong with the potion she made. She rights the wrong by cutting her wrists and becoming the vessel.
You’re not the only only who thinks the writers write BS.
Winter Is Coming: I’m going to vent here for a second because I happen to be one of those fans who was outraged by how the show did Eskel dirty. The logic of Geralt being propelled to figure stuff out about Ciri because of what happens to Eskel just…doesn’t make any sense to me? Those are two completely unrelated things. And I have no idea why Lambert and the other witchers blame Geralt bringing Ciri to the keep for what happened to Eskel. Eskel was infected while hunting a monster, which is what he does.
Gaming Bible: "We knew we had to kill someone in that episode," said Hissrich in the behind-the-scenes special The Witcher: Unlocked. "We knew that we wanted a monster to enter Kaer Morhen and have something to do with Ciri, and both Geralt and Vesemir and the brothers realize that bringing this girl into their Witcher keep is going to fundamentally change things.
"And, in all honesty, the very first version of the script that we wrote was a brand new Witcher that we'd never met before, we'd never heard of, and all of a sudden we were like... Oh, our audience is going to meet Coen and Lambert and Eskel and, you know, John. And who's going to die? John is going to die. So we thought about it really hard and I know that there are fans who love Eskel and who feel like, why would we do that?
"But, honestly, his death is what changes everything for Geralt and I think it propels Geralt's need to figure out what's going on with Ciri and to do it fast, because he knows that he's going to risk losing her and his brothers if he doesn't. And we really just wanted to motivate that character journey for him."
I understand what you mean. But one could say that G swore to protect C. He didn’t swear to protect Eskel.
Vereena is my favorite monster. The thing she did with her head really freaked me out. I didn’t expect it.
Speaking of Vereena, I don’t think her death should have lifted Nivellen’s curse. Vereena is a monster. Is loving a monster and turning a blind eye for its heinous crimes good enough to lift the curse? Not to me.
Thank goodness she lost her magic.

VM is after C, because she woke her up with her screams. Y didn’t have anything to do with that. I don’t think the pain of losing her chaos helped free VM either. The desperation of F and the pain of Francesca did. VM can only feed on the pain (from anger, sadness, desperation etc.) of those who ask her for something. If she can feed on the pain of everybody, she’d have broken out of her prison a long time ago, because the Continent is full of people in pain.
That said, IMO, Y needs to right two wrongs. First wrong is manipulating C to go to Cintra. Y isn’t the one who opened the portal. She can’t control it and C already went through when G tells her to stop. C expects Y to be behind her. She’d freak out if Y doesn’t appear. So Y had to go. But there was no reason to instigate C to go look for G in Cintra. What would that accomplish? Y doesn’t know who Rience is working for. Why put that in C’s head to make her feel guilty and eager to go help G and put herself in danger? That’s because Y wanted to sacrifice C. She starts regretting her decision when C tells her what G means to her. Then she gets fascinated by C’s powers. So the reason behind Y's decision to not sacrifice C, is the second wrong that needs righting. IMO, the reason is wrong, because it leaves room for people to believe/think that, if VM just needed a young girl, she’d have sacrificed a girl that has no powers and isn’t linked to G.
IMO, the writers wanted too many things to happen in Kaer Morhen (KM) and they're not exactly good writers. They let Lambert just start an argument with G while certain things didn’t even happen yet. As I said, Lambert wasn’t there to know that G killed Eskel too quickly (IMO). Also, when he started the argument, nobody knew anything about C and monsters yet. G finds out later in that ep (S02E03). So does Coen, because he hears the convo between G and C.
Anyway, when Eskel arrives and tells about his encounter with the leshi/leshy/leshen (which one is it?), Lambert says that there aren’t leshies in Kaedwen. So I have a theory. Bear with me, Sue. I'm going into overanalyzing mode.
G and C traveled from Sodden to KM in north Kaedwen, right? They had to pass through some other Kingdoms before reaching Kaedwen. I think the leshy was in one of those other Kingdoms and it followed them. C attracts monsters, right? Unfortunately, Eskel was also going to KM. So somewhere in Kaedwen (probably the forest near KM where G and C train and find the leshy), he bumped into the leshy and he ended up taking its hand.
IMO, it’s not far fetched to think that the leshy infected Eskel, because it knew he was going to be near C. The leshy probably figured it’s not a good idea to go in a place full of Witchers. Is better to send a hand and “clone.” Remember, Eskel arrives at KM on the same day as G and C and he says the leshy talked. So leshies aren’t dumb monsters. I guess the leshy figured Eskel is a Witcher. Who else would try to kill a leshy? Maybe the leshy saw the elixir? Maybe it took it or broke it? Maybe it knew, if Eskel drinks the elixir, there’s a good chance he won’t get infected and he will take more than just a hand. He'll take its life.
Anyway, are you still with me? If my theory is right, there’s still no reason for the other Witchers to think C is the reason a leshy suddenly appeared in Kaedwen. Eskel never mentions where he fought the leshy. Witchers travel back to KM to relax during the winter. Where was Eskel before he arrived in Kaedwen? G came back from Soddeh. Actually, Cintra. He finds C near Sodden. Also, Kaedwen is huge. A leshy is a tree monster that lives in the forest. Kaedwen has forests. We can see G and C train in a forest near KM. They find the leshy there too.
Well, they added more than one Witcher. Was it still necessary to kill Eskel? I thought the extra Witchers were added to make KM less dull. I didn’t think anybody would die.
As I said, Eskel’s story made sense till LSH explained why she turned him in a leshy and killed him.
Firstly, G is already determined to find out who and what C is. He tells V that before any leshy happens. G thinks that C inherited Pavetta’s powers or a version of it. That alone should make him figure out what's going on with C ASAP, because he knows what her mom was capable of doing. Imagine if C has something worst than that. G knows she has the power of foresight, but he doesn’t buy that foresight helped her escape the Nilfgaard soldiers. And the fact that C hides things and even lies when he asks her things, already propelled him to figure out what's going on with her. Chances are, she did something horrible because she couldn’t control her powers. Maybe innocent people died.
Secondly, it doesn’t matter which Witcher turns into a leshy. Forget C. When V tells G it’s impossible for a leshy to infect a Witcher, that should be enough to investigate. If it can infect Witchers, it can infect humans. Soon, there will be lots of leshies. Also, Witchers shouldn’t worry about getting infected when they fight a leshy. So V or G must find out why this leshy is different so they can find a way to prevent the infection and/or a way to cure it. It’s important to find the leshy that infected Eskel.
Thirdly, luckily for G and V, Eskel took the leshy’s hand. So most of the research can happen in the lab. The investigation outside starts when G finds C’s sash in the leshy’s hand. How did it know C’s in that room? KM is pretty big. Why didn’t it hurt C? Kaedwen doesn’t have leshies, but it has one now that C is there. More reasons to find the leshy. G seems to want to test the theory that C can lead him to the leshy or make the leshy come to them. Again, it doesn’t matter if the leshy infected Eskel or another Witcher.
So, because you swear to protect a person, that person is allowed to kill others without any repercussion? It’s not C’s fault that VM possessed her. But it’s not Eskel’s fault the leshy infected him. C unwillingly woke up VM. Eskel didn’t know a leshy can infect him, because Witchers are told they’re immune.
Anyway, you don’t need to swear to protect a friend. The fact that you’re friends implies that you won’t kill each other easily. Eskel is also more than just a friend to G. He’s like the favorite brother among the other brothers. G knows him longer than C too. All that stuff has to count for something, Sue.
I’ll overanalyze this another time.

I’m bearing for a few weeks now. I reply A and you reply with an essay or so. BTW, did you watch NWH?
I thought G was the last to arrive at KM. The Witchers don’t have to stay inside the whole winter. They can go hunting for dinner in the forest.
NOTW has a leshy. The fight between it and V was cool. I can’t remember if it talked, though.

Thank you. Was that so difficult? You just had to burn one bra, not your undies too.
After Y tried to sacrifice C, let’s trust her to be her teacher.
C and G will be on the run. So Nenekke can’t teach her. But T’s excuse to leave C was lame.
You don’t like when I correct you, but you mean S02E01 and S02E03.
Is worse than that. Y didn’t save Cahir to get in Cintra. She decided to go to Cintra after she saw the flyer for their arrest in Oxenfurt.
Yeah, infecting people is new. They can’t reproduce and they are a dying species. G told C something like that. He didn’t mention anything about multiplying by infecting people.
The writers made G … reckless and … cocky this season. Reckless for putting C in danger and cocky for thinking he’ll kill the leshy. Witchers can die when they fight monsters. The striga killed the black-haired Witcher before he could swing his sword.
Neither did Nivellen.

What’s it to you?
Yes. I had to babysit two guys taller than me to the multiplex. The two guys are my brothers.
That’s possible. But my theory is that the leshy supposedly arrived with G and C. So Eskel supposedly bumped into it before reaching KM. He arrives after G and C.
T fears death, but she tells the thing that will cause the death of everybody, she knows what it is. C could have killed her so she wouldn’t tell her secret.
Then, instead of staying with C, T leaves. C looks up to her. T can guide her. Maybe try to change her mind about destroying the world. Now T doesn’t know who may get C’s blood or C. Reince easily portalled in and out of KM. Nothing stops other mages from doing the same.
Because you know what I mean. Why bother point it out?
That’s right.
But the whole point of Y escaping is so Stregobor can't villainize her. By saving Cahir, she confirms what Stregobor said. She’s a spy and Stregobor was right.
She could have saved herself and leave Cahir behind. That would have shown she’s not a spy. At least, she’s not a spy for Nilfgaard. She could still be a spy for the Elves.
She saved a mass murderer for no good reason. Even if she thinks he can help her, after witnessing F’s fear, I wouldn’t know why she’d dare go to Cintra.
Exactly!
I already wrote about the bruxa.
G could have taken a few Witchers to help him with the leshy. After all, it is the reason Eskel died and it can infect them all.
The writers make G responsible for Roach’s dead. G has no reason to believe the chernobog is near Melitele. The chernobog happened in Cintra. G shouldn’t have heard anything flying. He shouldn’t have had to draw it out either.
The writers should have kept it simple. C whines and G ignores her or mumbles something once in the while. They cross the river and are suddenly attacked by the chernobog when they’re almost at the other side. Roach panics. C falls in the water. The chernobog injures Roach. G tells C to run to the trees while he uses his Witcher signs on the chernobog. The chernobog flies away. Roach gets out of the water and dies on the river bank. It’s not G’s fault. He didn’t do anything stupid. It was a surprised attack.
What was the point of paying VM a visit? C is fine. Y doesn’t tell G about F and Francesca or their deal with VM. Y doesn’t know that those two joining forces can end in pain that VM can feed on. Actually, Y doesn’t know that VM feeds on pain, until G tells her. She knows VM looks for your weakness and uses it to hurt you so you’ll do anything she wants.
So if Y can’t sacrifice C, is the pain that VM is causing her enough to break free? Is assuming that’d be enough to break her free a good reason to go looking for her and fight her alone? Yes/maybe, when you don’t have a child to protect. G tells J that the first Witchers imprisoned VM. Whitchers kill monsters. But VM is a demon. Maybe you can’t kill her. So what makes G think that he can fight her alone if she breaks free? It took Witchers to imprisoned her.
I thought about that. I guess someone has to tell NV how dating a celeb with female fans works. She’s the gf. She gets to touch HC and play in Eden. We’re the fans. We need to see some abs and pecs to fantasize about Eden. Remind me to DM her that.
I agree. But for some bizarre reason, the writers thought a Witcher had to die.
OMG, I forgot Nivellen’s love and blood spell. Next time.

Exactly.
You have an opinion about everything, lately. Do you think NWH is a gem? You haven’t said anything about it.
Huh? Taller than you and need babysitter?
Maybe HC wants only NV to play in and fantasize about Eden.
You forgot or are you writing a book?

VM didn’t cause Y any pain. Her stupidity did.
I understand why the book geeks are furious. I’d be really happy if I never have to see Y again. That hurts, because I really like AC.
VM has magic. G isn’t immune to magic. Remember what lilac and gooseberries made him do.
I’m afraid to ask what Eden is in this context.

AC is great. But not Y. And Y will be with G and C all the time. Is no escaping her. I hope that’s not reason for more people to quit TW. Remember, TW lost 56.7 mil hours viewed while NX gained 54.7 mil subs.
Rules are ignored when it’s convenient. Witchers are infected by monsters or affected by spell. Mages can’t portal.
NWH a gem? I can’t believe some fans thought it should have been nominated for the Oscar for best film. What’s so good about NWH? IMO, very little thinking went into its story. But I’ll rant about it after I’m done ranting, b*tching, venting and whining about TW.
Yeah. They were fourteen and sixteen and the movie would have ended after midnight. My parents wouldn’t let them go. So they remembered they have a sister. What’s her name again?
The whole thing was weird. Four years ago, I went to the movies with my brothers. They were shorter than me with squeaky voice. Now they’re taller than me with deep voice. At 173 cm, I’m not considered short. So I felt weird and kind of old. I started feeling my mortality. Some sort of age crisis.
Both. I forgot. Now that I remember, I wrote a book.
Anyway, I don't know what's in the Witcher short story, but I hope it's different than what's in the series. In TW, the story is a version of Beauty And The Beast. I'm not into fairy tales. But if memory serves, in the original BATB story, the prince is cursed by an evil fairy that wants him, but he refuses her. The prince didn't do anything wrong. And Beauty is a pure-hearted girl.
The TW writers changed the good-hearted Beast and Beauty into evil Boar and Bruxa. Instead of just being loved, the love should be mutual and the woman must die, too, to break the curse. OK. But when the evil fairy in BATB cursed the prince, she didn't think anybody would ever love him to break the curse. Are there other monsters in that story to hook up with?
In TW, the Continent is full of monsters. Some can be beautiful, like Vereena, Renfri and even VM. So Nivellen's curse doesn't look like a curse. He can make all kinds of things appear and he’ll live forever because the curse won’t let him die. So why would he want to break the curse? He found a monster gf, who loves him and doesn’t care about his past crimes and his cursed form. She happens to be stunning too. Humans, who aren’t cursed, will suffer when their loved one eventually die while a cursed man and his monster gf will live happily forever because neither can die. How is that fair? How is that a curse?
Nivellen doesn’t have to see Vereena when she turns into a hideous bruxa. Vereena knows what she is and is happy someone loves her and accepts her the way she is. Someone who doesn’t care about her past, present and future crimes. A human may care, but a monster will not. Nivellen isn’t a monster (he just looks like one), but he did (rape) and still is doing (turn a blind eye when Vereena kills) awful things. People will keep getting killed, because he selfishly wants to keep his monster gf.
I hope the priestess that cursed Nivellen burns in fantasy hell. It looks like her curse makes everybody suffer, except Nivellen. Is like she cursed the world, not him. When Nivellen transformed, he killed all his servants too.
Anyway, by losing Vereena, Nivellen should start feeling his curse again. Alone. Nobody loves him. On top of that, the pain of mourning. Instead of letting him suffer, the writers break his curse. G doesn’t even bother kill him. Well, he only kills monsters, not cursed humans or humans who did awful things.
Now that Nivellen looks like a man, what's stopping him from getting a new gf and start over? Did he pay for any of his crimes? Mourning for a monster doesn't count. He won't mourn Vereena for years. Come on!

TW
Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza? After helping Cahir escape?
I hear the anxiety and depression will kick in after mid-twenties.
That change makes things difficult. I think the message of stories like BATB could be that physical appearance shouldn’t matter or won’t matter, if the person is really a good person. That doesn’t count for Boar and Bruxa. They’re both ugly.
When the person cursed did something wrong, the message of the story should be that people should get a chance to right a wrong. Nivellen had the chance to do something good. He could have been selfless. He could have ignored his feelings for Vereena to prevent more killings. He shouldn’t kill Vereena. He could have imprisoned her. But he turned a blind eye just because she didn’t care about his past. And that made him selfish.
So, what’s the message of the Boar and Bruxa story? I’m not sure.

Bridgerton S02 is #1 now and it still has four more days of hv to add. Today is its 28th day.
Fantasy hell.
The priestess forgot the Continent is full of monsters and Nivellen would fit right in. She made… a weakling strong. Nivellen won’t piss himself anymore. She gave him magical powers too.
Huh? Isn’t Y already aware of the political battle Tissaia, Vilgefortz vs Artorius, Stregobor? Tissaia told her the… situation is… dangerous.
You’re not sure about that? Well… I don’t understand the whole… speech after G decapitates Vereena. I mean… the fact that Nivellen is/looks like a monster is being… ignored.
Vereena wasn’t afraid of Nivellen, because she knew she could turn into something uglier and more dangerous than him. She chose to stay with him, because she’d finally found another monster like her. She can’t… accidentally or… deliberately kill him. She could love him, because he was a monster like her.
