Flirting with the MCU and playing BH schoolyard tricks, as Sue said , seem to have given WB the last push to finally give BA a release date. But what about Shazam! 2? The success of BM’s villain, Joker, is making WB give S!’s villain, BA, priority. Although, DJ thinks he’s a hero. So they will use the new heroic version of him, which will never be as cool as the old villainous version.

I like DJ, but S&H was a hot pile of crap. It had nothing to do with F&F. It looked more like a very poorly written MI. It piggybacked on the success of F&F and that’s probably why it made money. Why include a black Superman if you want to be the biracial Superman? The black Superman can lift a car, but when he hits you in the face, your face will remain intact. Really? Lifting weights all day and eating hundreds of pancakes won’t give you a face of steel. And no adult in the writing room stopped and said: “Hey, this is too dumb even for the dumb genre. Terminator: Dark Fate spoiler alert!

I thought James Cameron’s involvement will give the fans something good and new. Absolutely not. He kept the one must kill her and one must protect her crap. And the protector must die too. Call me nuts, but T-800 was metal covered with human tissue. However, metal is not allowed in the time machine. That’s why Kyle had no futuristic weapons with him. This time, Grace knows her power source can kill Rev-9, but she doesn’t have a few with her. Don’t tell me an extra power source is not allowed in the time machine. Don’t tell me they only had one of those power sources in the damn future. Of course not, but JC sucks! And he thinks he has enough creativity for four more Avatar films. The first one had a lousy story, but it was beautiful and the technology was cool, kinda like Terminator 2: Judgment Day. I wasn’t around when that came out, but I can see why my parents think it’s one of the best Sci-Fi films ever made. The technology was new and cool. And unlike many Sci-Fi films, it does stand the test of time.

According to our alleged test screening attendee, the entire movie centers on some kind of "magic rock" that grants reality-warping powers to its main antagonist, Max Lord (Pedro Pascal). Lord uses his powers to grant wishes to (apparently random) people, but each wish has a twofold effect: it brings unintended consequences for the wish maker (call it the "Monkey's Paw Effect"), and it causes Lord's vaguely-defined power to increase in unspecified ways.

Our hero, Diana of Themyscira (Gal Gadot), is the unwitting recipient of one of these wishes, and she accidentally uses it to bring back her lost love Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) … Unfortunately, Trevor's consciousness is ported over into the body of some random dude, with only Diana able to see him for who he is; in addition, using the wish inexplicably causes Diana to lose some of her powers (but not all of them, for some reason).

The flick's secondary antagonist, Barbara Minerva AKA Cheetah (Kristen Wiig), is likewise granted her powers through the magic of Max Lord's rock. Once Diana (somehow) deduces that Lord is the one causing all of the weird-ass trouble, she sets out to take him down — opposed by Cheetah, who doesn't want to lose her newfound powers.

At some point, Diana and Trevor are forced to steal a jet airplane … Diana — using some innate, previously unseen power — turns the jet invisible in an egregiously shoehorned-in reference to Wondy's famous mode of transportation from the comics.

Eventually, the pair figure out Lord's master plan: to commandeer a satellite which will somehow enable him to grant a wish to everyone on Earth, thereby ratcheting up his power (whatever that is) to crazy levels. After a climactic fight during which Diana prevails, Lord realizes the error of his ways, and makes one final wish: that he had never come across the magic rock in the first place. Everything is restored to normal…

For one final insult, the flick's last scene has Diana agreeing to let the random dude formerly possessed with the spirit of Trevor — now just, well, some random dude — take her out for a date. Roll credits!

I agree with both of you. Now, what about See and The Mandelorian (TM). Those two are the crown jewels of the competition.

See has the blind thing that I like, but I don’t like the execution. RT agrees with me. See has only 41%. But ATV+ renewed it. I’m glad for JM.

TM isn’t trying to entertain. It looks like filling people with nostalgia is the goal. I’m bored already. It reminds me of Terminator. It’s 80% ST with 20% new stuff. But something weird is going on. RT says that TM has 89% based on 110 reviews, but I can only see one review. I can see all See’s reviews. What gives?

Many comic book adaptations don’t look good when you summarized them. And that final insult is actually the best thing in the film. Finally, they will let WW move on. I honestly can’t believe these women. First, WW was too busy mourning ST, a man she knew for a second, to come help SM fight Zod et al.. Now her obsession with ST made her do something that can jeopardize the well being of humanity. Whoa. Just whoa! An independent woman who thought men were tools to reproduce with has been reduced to this emotional, needy, clingy, pathetic waste of X-chromosomes. When is the next CapM, BOP and BW?

All the crown jewels have been renewed. To me, that includes ATV+’s big budget series “For all Mankind” too.

Mandalorian was renewed after the first episode and See after the third. Keep in mind that See’s first three episodes were released on the same day, 11/01, and it was renewed on 11/07, one day before the fourth episode.

For all Mankind and Witcher were both renewed before they were released. For all Mankind two weeks before its release and Witcher more than a month before its release.

I think it’s a sensible and logical move to renew complex series like these soon. Netflix doesn’t expect Witcher to fail. And even if it’s just a modest hit, Netflix has a deep enough pocket to give it another go. So that’s not really a problem. But if Netflix doesn’t greenlight Witcher now and it is a hit, fans will have to wait too long for the second season. Remember, it takes almost eight months to shoot eight episodes. That’s without writing each episode and all the other pre-production stuff.

Season 1: October 2018 till May 2019 = December 2019 release. If it's a hit, we want a December 2020 release again. It’s November 2019. Netflix better hurry.

Luckily for us, season 2 is already on paper. They could have renewed Witcher a long time ago.

Re TDF: David S. Goyer, one of the two geniuses who wrote BvS, is one of the three geniuses who wrote TDF. Why do studios keep hiring these people? They used to come up with good stories. But the well of good stories has dried out.

Black Adam v Superman is a fight worth watching. Why would anybody think a fight between Superman and a puny human in a bat suit would be cool?

But how can you have someone as powerful as Superman attack Earth or Superman again without including Wonder Woman and Aquaman? If we look at the MCU, the villains in Captain America, Iron Man, Black Panther, Ant-Man and Spider-Man don’t have Superman powers. The Avengers assemble when the villain is too strong or too many. Wonder Woman and Aquaman should have helped Superman fight the Kryptonians, because they threatened the whole world. And not only a group of people knew about the threat; the whole world knew about the threat.

So something has to separate Superman from Wonder Woman, Aquaman and even Shazam. This is why many people expect Superman to appear in Green Lantern or New Gods. They can transfer him to another planet, dimension or time. Black Adam has magic in it. I suppose a transfer could be achieved with magic. Or spells to influence the mind of the other heroes?

Shazam & Black Adam Won't Meet Until Shazam! 3, Says Zachary Levi

First reported by Comicbook, Levi is now claiming that Shazam won't meet Black Adam in Shazam! 2, but rather Shazam 3!. Levi said the reasoning for this was because the Black Adam solo film had to happen first and because they thought the series wouldn't be as interesting after they introduced Shazam's arch-nemesis. Levi's full statement from the CCXP Cologne Convention can be read below:

ZL: "I can say that as far as I know, Black Adam is not going to be in the second Shazam!, because the idea is that they want to go and do a standalone Black Adam movie first. And then it would kind of be, if we do a third Shazam! and a second Black Adam, kind of [parallel] like that, that’s where we would [meet]. Because he’s like the ultimate bad guy for Captain Marvel, Shazam. Like [Shazam and] Black Adam, they’re doppelgängers right, the evil twin to who I am. So that’s got to be like the final battle. If we do that in the second movie, then where do we go after that? It would just be a movie of us sitting around playing video games for the third one, that would be very boring. Or not [laughs]. I’m a very interesting video game player. So yeah, I think that’s the idea. We’ll definitely [cross over] — the plan is to get there, but just to pace it out however it needs to pace out."

With the massive success of Shazam!, Shazam! 2 is almost a certainty. Shazam! 2 is expected to start filming in mid-2020, with Levi and Angel reprising their roles. Plot details for the film are scarce so far, but given the end-credits scene of Shazam!, Mister Mind will likely be the villain this time around.

Levi understands how the villains should be introduced. Snyder obviously didn’t. The villains in the sequel should be stronger, not weaker. Showing a sick person get beaten up is just twisted. Either let the kryptonite kill Superman or kill him with a man-made weapon and be done with it.

Miller thought it was a dream come true when he got a chance to direct a new Terminator movie with James Cameron on board as a producer. Then he actually had to make the movie. After dealing with script troubles, a difficult shoot, and intense disagreements on the final edit, Miller watched as ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ met a dark fate at the box office. 

Following his movie’s disappointing opening, we asked him whether he thought he would ever work with producer James Cameron again. 

“No,” Miller said, “but it has nothing to do with whatever trauma I have from the experience, it’s more that I just don’t want to be in a situation again where I don’t have the control to do what I think is right.”

Geeks want all kinds of match-ups like SMvAM, SMvBA and even SMvThor and SMvHulk. But I’ll never understand SMvBM. That's as stupid as WW v Harley Quinn. WW will kill her in a heartbeat. WW v Supergirl would be perfect. HQ v Batwoman or HQ v Catwoman would be perfect too.

I don’t expect much from the male species. And I also can’t fault them for taking advantage of things that will benefit their kind. Is their good right to fill their films with male crap. You can bet your scholarship that I would have done the same if I was a man. Women should be like that too. But no! If women don’t care to portray females as independent and emotionally strong, why should men care about portraying them that way?
