Biography

Shannon Baker Davis, ACE, is an award-winning film and television editor. She began her journey in New York, cutting her teeth on documentaries and reality television, including iconic, Emmy-winning series such as Top Chef and Project Runway. After a decade in unscripted content, she transitioned into scripted work.

Her television credits include Insecure (created by Issa Rae), Grown-ish (a Black-ish spin-off from Kenya Barris), and Queen Sugar (created by Ava DuVernay). In feature films, Shannon edited Armstrong, featuring Vicky Jeudy, Sean Parsons, Jason Antoon, and Kevin Pollak, and The Weekend (Lionsgate), directed by Stella Meghie and starring Sasheer Zamata, Tone Bell, and DeWanda Wise.

She went on to edit The Obituary of Tunde Johnson, directed by Ali LeRoi (Everybody Hates Chris). Shannon reunited with Meghie on The Photograph (Universal), starring Issa Rae and LaKeith Stanfield. She continued her collaboration with Kenya Barris on the Netflix series #blackAF, starring Barris and Rashida Jones. Shannon is an American Cinema Editors (ACE) member who mentors emerging talent through the ACE Diversity Mentorship Program. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Motion Picture Editors Guild and co-chairs its African-American Steering Committee.
