The hot 100 is boring I mean hardly any new songs are breaking through and now Circles by Post Malone which was like popular by the end of last year is back in the top 10 because there is simply not many new songs that are on payola playlists or radio. With great albums being released weekly pretty much in the past 2 months, so many good artists could be entering the charts, offering variety and excitement but somehow everything is stuck in a rut.

I literally haven't listened to a radio since 2015. I gave up on it

Yeah I only listen to radio in the car but the problem nowadays is that artist that get played on radio get streams and those who don't get radio play don't get streams which means that they rely on sales to appear on the charts which is all good and dandy until you realize those albums don't sell anymore. No sales, no streams, no airplay means that it is even harder for non-mainstream acts to be noticed aside from music enthusiasts but then why does it matter, well it could matter in terms of whether the artist can maintain a career by just touring and also lack of funds can result in less good music or quality recordings. I know I'm rambling. Streaming nowadays has given many independent artist bigger chance than they would have gotten while signed to a label but at the same time, only few selected can get really big while many stay under the radar.

Couldnt agree with you more. It’s like they play the same 10 sounds over and over again
