None of these new bitches (Dua Lipa, Billie, Halsey) even come close to having the talent or discography to ever headline a super bowl.
A lot of the major pop girls have already done it. The only one that hasn’t done it is Rihanna who has said she doesn’t respect the NFL. Taylor also comes to mind but with the whole Scooter owning all her hits I doubt she’ll want to.
Ariana also comes to mind but nothing about her performances screams interesting.

None have the catalog.
Next year Rihanna or Eminem would be the most obvious choices.
I would say Britney but she probably doesnt want the attention.

Rihanna and Taylor are the only ones with the catalog. That or Janet gets a redo. Ariana has hits sure, but are they really known by the public like that? Rihanna and Taylor have over 10 at the very least that are.

Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran and BTS are probably next in line. Yeah awful choices but then again it's the Super bowl.

Of course their dumb fans are demanding it but they’re only a small fraction of the population. The NFL will never allow it.

An all KPop show would throw all the football fans for a loop. BTS, Girls Generation, IU etc
But the NFL has to play it safe. Next year I bet they go country or classic rock.
What would be cool is to throw it out to Lin Manuel Miranda to put a show together. Or get the people from The Masked Singer show to do it.

Or.... because 99.9% of the country doesn’t like kpop.

If the NFL wants to sell American football in Asia they might do it. Well no.. they wouldn't. No K-pop then.

Usher would be a great choice. He’s not a pop girl but he has enough hits and talented.

Besides Yeah, none of his other songs really aged well.

Pink would put on one hell of a show. I'm surprised she hasn't already done it.
She would fit their "classic rock" mould, and a lot of her songs are designed for that type of performance. They could always have her share it with a bigger star.

She reportedly turned it down, after they had asked Rihanna.

I think it would bring nostalgia and most of his classics are remembered. If Justin can do it who’s terrible live with a weaker catalog then i don’t see why Usher can’t do it alone.
He could bring out guest spots to a lot of people so he’s not completely alone.

I see what you're saying however you have to remember that the NFL is the system and the players are just the puppets of said system. Players have influence over the masses however they dont actually have the power.
Same with music. The labels/record companies are the system and the artists the puppets.
It's easier for people to target the face since they are more accessible (players and artists - even though they just do what they are told) than to take on the real power that are behind the scenes.
Another reason why they target the artists is because for the players them playing is their livelihood. If they don't play they dont make an income.
For artists playing the Superbowl is a choice and they still have their primary income from music whether they do the halftime or not.
The players cant force the owners to do anything since they are employees other than ban together and refuse to play but you're talking about a group of people who take the most beatings and get paid less than most national sports.
Not to make excuses however they tackle people for a living and are not known for extraordinary intelligence.
They can't even get it together to look out for their own best interest, much less, the responsibility to look out for others.
You would have to hurt the owners bottomline which would only come by people really boycotting the NFL.
