Lol.
I've seen them both up close and in person in their prime (year 2000) and Jlo was stunning in person (not sure if that's still the case as this was 20 years ago). It was well known in the industry that JLo looked better in person than on camera. Shes a movie star for a reason.
And what JLo lacks in talent she makes up for with sheer determine and drive. People just like to hate on her because shes unapologetic about her ambition.

Most straight men might agree because they tend to like women who are relatable.
It's well known that most men are infact intimidated by women they think are out if their league. Jlo isnt Liz Taylor however shes put together at all times and glamorous. That can be intimidating for the average man so of course they are going to say the one that is more attainable (like Shakira) is "prettier".
Jlo due to her confidence gives off the "I wouldn't give you the time of day unless you're on my level" and very few men are fame wise.
It's the reason why men preferred "relateable" Jennifer Aniston over Angelina even though anyone with sufficient beta carotene in their diets can clearly see who was prettier.

Well the OP said "Jlo wishes". I dont think Jlo would trade places with Shakira career wise. Shakira isnt even that good of a singer and has been accused of sounding like a goat many times.

Because Shakira's songs are actually decent compositions and has her distinctive voice. J-LO's songs are mostly scrambles of what's hot at the minute and big chunk of the vocals aren't even hers.

Shakira has a better catalog. She sold more post superbowl.
However, why would JLo wish anything when shes the bigger star in spite of her "lack of music talent"? Shes sold millions of albums herself and makes headlines just being Jlo.
Dont think JLo goes to bed at night wishing she had Shakira's career music wise or other. Jlo has many accomplishments in her own right.
Its kind of comical that people are making out that Shakira is so much more accomplished musically when just a few years ago she was spinning in a red chair on The Voice.

Nobody said JLo had zero accomplishments, and no one said Shakira was perfect. Why do internet warriors always have a dramatic need to play the victim? Nobody is sitting here thinking JLo (or other pop stars) sit and contemplate this BS, it's just pop fans talking smack.
But anyway, to act as if Shakira isn't immensely more musically talented than JLo is just idiotic. JLo hires people to both steal AND sing her songs for her. She has bops, and can put on a show, but let's be realistic.
