It's not even the best song on True Blue.
Madonna's best 80s songs are in my opinion Into the Groove, Like A Prayer and White Heat.

For best dramatic song "Live to tell" For very early song "Borderline" For the rest of the 80s? Just put them in shuffle. It's all personal taste which for me changes all the time.

Not a huge Madonna fan but have to admit she has a lasting body of work. She also is underrated as a song writer/co-writer. Her image overpowers her other skills. Can't say what her best 80s song is but Material Girl could be her most 80s song capturing that 80s yuppie/greed is good zeitgeist.
What does anyone think is her most personal song?

Her '80s run of singles is flawless, though I think both Angel and Causing a Commotion get overlooked.
