Cuando Millie, la hermanita malcriada de Coop, de 10 años, trae a casa un misterioso gato callejero, la idílica vida de Coop da un vuelco total. Resulta que este no es en absoluto un gato, sino más bien un alienígena malévolo que parece un gato.
La serie gira en torno a un grupo de adolescentes que se autodenominan La Sociedad de la medianoche. Cada semana, en un lugar secreto del bosque, uno de los miembros contaba una historia de terror al resto del grupo. Cada narrador comenzaba su historia diciendo: Someto a la aprobación de la sociedad de la medianoche, esta historia a la que llamó... Luego tomaba una bolsa de piel, metía la mano y lanzaba unos polvos a la hoguera para avivar el fuego y que saliera humo. A continuación se decía el título de la historia. Los temas de las historias por lo general giraban en torno a una variedad de fenómenos paranormales, como fantasmas, duendes, magia, dragones, casas embrujadas, maldiciones mágicas, extraterrestres, brujas y similares. YTV's Hit List was a music video television program that aired on YTV, a Canadian specialty television network aimed at children. The series first started in 1991, hosted by Tarzan Dan and had 14 seasons in all. The first 6 seasons of Hit List were hosted by Tarzan Dan, there were numerous hosts to follow from Aashna, Leslie and Exan to Rob and Danielle. As of fall 2005, Hit List has gone on an indefinite hiatus. Hit List's run lasted 14 years on YTV. Only Video & Arcade Top 10 has had a longer run on YTV.
Tarzan Dan worked on the radio in Toronto and was nominated for Canadian Radio Announcer of the Year 5 times and won 4. He was also nominated for a Gemini Award for his YTV work and Best TV Host of a Music Based Show at the Canadian Music Industry Awards. He has most recently been seen on MuchMoreMusic on the show Listed.

The only merchandise produced for the show were videos and they are now exceptionally rare and no longer produced. In the United States, it aired on PBS and the Disney Channel. It received funding from the International Production Fund, formerly the Maclean Hunter Television Fund. This series premiered October 1, 1995. Groundling Marsh was nominated at the 12th Annual Gemini Awards for Best Preschool Program or Series. John Pattison was also nominated for a Gemini for the episode "Bah Hegdish". The show had its series finale on November 28, 1997. The show is still seen on Bell Media-owned educational station CTV Two Alberta in Canada.
