Expedition Robinson is a Swedish reality television program in which contestants are put into survival situations, and a voting process eliminates one person each episode until a winner is determined. The format was developed in 1994 by Charlie Parsons for a United Kingdom TV production company called Planet 24, but the Swedish debut in 1997 was the first production to actually make it to television.

The first season of Sweden's Idol premiered in August 2004 and continued until its grand finale on 26 November. It is a spin off of Britain's Pop Idol.

Wallander is a Swedish television series adapted from Henning Mankell's Kurt Wallander novels and starring Krister Henriksson in the title role. The 1st series of 13 films was produced in 2005 and 2006, with one taken directly from a novel and the remainder with new storylines suggested by Mankell. The 2nd series of 13 films was shown between 2009 and 2010. The stories are set in Ystad near the southern tip of Sweden.

The three films Before the Frost, Mastermind, and The Secret were premiered in cinemas, with the rest first released as direct-to-DVD movies. The first episode of the second series, Hämnden, was released in Swedish cinemas in January 2009; the rest of the series was made for television.

The BBC aired all 26 episodes of the Swedish television versions on BBC Four.

A third and final season, containing six 90 minute episodes, will air in 2013 with Charlotta Jonsson as Linda Wallander. The first episode, adapted from the novel The Troubled Man, was released in cinemas in January 2013.

Tre kronor was a Swedish soap opera that aired on TV4 during the period 1994-1999. The series took place in the fictive middle class suburb Mälarviken, located in the vicinity of Stockholm. The exteriors were filmed in Sätra, a suburb of Stockholm, and the interiors were filmed in a studio in Kvarnholmen as well as in Kungens Kurva. Tre kronor aired at the same time period as Rederiet was on SVT and the shows where rivals of the viewers and they both had around 1-2 million viewers. TV4 started Tre kronor in 1994 to compete for the viewers of Rederiet.

The signature tune was written by Lasse Holm.

The spin-off movie Reine och Mimmi i fjällen! was based on two of the characters; Reine and Mimmi.

The series had a dramatic ending where all the characters besides six were fatally wounded in a suicide bombing that took place at the local restaurant Tre Kronor. It was a priest himself who was the perpetrator. Two big cliffhangers in the series was when Hans Wästberg, played by Ulf Brunnberg, robbed the post office and shot his son Hans-Åke by mistake. Hans Wästberg was taken to prison and disappeared from the series after the second season. Season Three ended with Sirpa "Bimbo" Koskinen, the girlfriend of Hans-Åke Wästberg, died in a bus crash. Salongo played by Richard Sseruwagi was a refugee and a rich business man from Uganda who fell in love with a married police woman Lena Sjökvist played by Catharine Hansson and he later bought the restaurant Tre Kronor. Later in the series, Salongo buys another restaurant and he to disappeares from the series.

Skilda världar was a Swedish soap opera from 1996-2002 about two families in Stockholm and their friends. One rich family and one poor and about Daniel and Sandra who are from the two families and fall in love. Later in the series it is discovered that Daniel and Sandra are twins. The series goes further and further away from their story and goes more towards the hate from all characters against Rebecka who is trying to destroy the relationship between Sandra and Daniel.

Skilda världar is one of TV4's most watched shows in history and was the longest running daily soap opera in Swedish television. The series was based on the 1980s Australian soap opera, Sons and Daughters.

The series is named after a small part of Saltsjöbaden called Solsidan. It revolves around Alex and Anna who are expecting their first child and have just moved to Alex's childhood home in Saltsjöbaden, Stockholm County. Alex tries to get Anna to enjoy herself, and at the same time spend time with his childhood friend Fredde.

Ocean Ave. was a Swedish-American low budget daytime soap opera, produced by the Swedish production company, Kajak, and filmed at the Florida based, Dolphin Entertainment. It was set and filmed in Miami, Florida between 2002 and 2003. The series was made for Swedish TV4 where it was moved from early prime time to middays due to bad ratings. No American or international network or channel picked up the series. The main cast included only five Swedish actors, two other Swedish actors were seen in minor roles. Dialogues were shot in both Swedish and English with hopes to sell the series internationally. One hundred thirty episodes were filmed but Swedish Television cut it into 260 episodes. Ocean Ave. received bad reviews from the start.

"Så mycket bättre" is the Swedish version of the format "Beste Zangers". This is asinging reality show where each artist attempts to do their own version of another artists well-known songs, with each person getting an episode featuring all of their songs being performed by the other musicians. The artists spend eight days together at a hotel in Gotland, where they attempt to put their own stamps on the songs.

c/o Segemyhr was a Swedish sitcom that premiered on TV4 Sweden on 4 September 1998. The series took place in and around an apartment in an exclusive neighbourhood in Stockholm, Artillerigatan 35 and later Styrmansgatan 52 in the same area.

The series began with three seasons from fall 1998 to fall 1999, thereafter additionally two seasons were added in 2003–2004. All seasons have been released on DVD. Script writers were Fredrik Lindström och Erik Haag.

When Johan Falk was 19 years old he lost his girlfriend Maria and their unborn child when Maria got hit by a car. Falk takes the accident very hard and do not even go to the funeral. He decides that crime must be fought and applies immediately to the Police Academy. The movies are, however, only about Falk as an police officer with many years of experience from the National Task Force. He often goes his own way and does not shy away from using controversial methods. This leads to that the colleagues often experience difficulties in cooperating with him and managers are forced to turn a blind eye to what he's doing.

Oskyldigt dömd is a Swedish drama television series from 2008. The first season was recorded in twelve episodes during February 2008 to be aired later during the fall. It premiered on the Finnish TV channel FST5 on September 24, 2008 and later the same evening on Swedish TV4. The series is produced by Filmlance. On January 23 TV4 announced that Mikael Persbrandt would be playing the main character and on February 10 other cast members were announced; Helena af Sandeberg, Sofia Ledarp, Marie Richardson and Mirja Turestedt. TV4 also announced that they had started to work on the second season before the first had even been aired., the first season was written by Johan Zollitsch, Jan Arnald, Karin Gidfors and Hans Rosenfeldt but the second one is written by Thomas Borgström and Sara Heldt. Filming the second season took place during the spring 2009. TV4 refused to say how much money the filming has cost the channel, but they confirms that "a lot of money" has been used.
