Sci Fi is my favourite genre primarily not just because it offers beautiful visuals and set-pieces but also that it can be a commentary on our society by starting with what if question like how would the world really react to the arrival of aliens or if a machine develops the ability to feel and think as we do. For this I am not going to count Star Wars because I consider those films to be more of a fantasy film in a sci fi setting.
